Sick and Busy

Unfortunately Steve's day didn't get any better. By late last night, he was definitely sick, and he has spent the night and day propped up on the couch. That hit him fast and hard-usually he ignores being sick until it goes away, or until it gets so bad it knocks him down for a day or two. This time it was just Boom, and sick.

So I went into the office this morning so I could do the end of the month stuff. Entering time sheets, fuel, pilot supplies, all that kind of stuff. It took all day, but I got most of the stuff done. I have a few things to finish tomorrow, and all the statements need printed, sorted, folded, stuffed and mailed, but it's progress.

Last night when I went to pick up Kaylee at Awanas, I told her that her grandma & grandpa were home. She took off running for the car, leaving me in the dust back inside the building as she shouted over her shoulder "Let's GO!!" We pulled into the driveway and she tore off running for their house, came to a screeching halt, ran back to me, ripped off her vest, and then she was gone for the next hour and a half. It was funny. She was quite happy to see them. She did the same thing today when we got home from gymnastics. :)

Today at gymnastics she passed something on the bars. I asked where she was, and apparently she has three things left to pass. I didn't even understand two of them, and they are on the bars anyway, so I can't exactly help her at home. The third thing is cartwheels. She's just not putting her leg right or something, but she has 2 out of 3 points needed to pass those, so she's close.

After I got home, I ran to CVS to pick up some Lysol, soap, cold medicine, etc. The newspaper on top of the counter had a huge photo of Hillary Clinton because she was here in Kokomo yesterday. The headline read "Hillary says 'I Will Stand Up For You.'" I wondered if she'd sit down for me too... At CVS I picked up a Neti Pot for Steve. This is a method of clearing out your sinuses in one fell swoop with a "flush". Personally, I think it sounds revolting, but people swear by it, so Steve gave it a try. He said it works great, but of course it doesn't last long. Mom, you have to know how hard it is for me not to describe exactly how this thing works, just for you. ;)

I put a bruise about as big as my fist on my thigh, in the typical genius method of walking into the prop of the Baron. Uh, while it was stopped, naturally. I knew it was going to leave a mark, since it left my leg numb for 20 minutes afterwards, but I forgot about it until I went to get in the shower the next morning. It's an impressive bruise. When it happened, I pretended like it didn't, because there were three other gentlemen around, two of whom I had just met for the first time, so I decided hopping around and yelling "owie!" wouldn't be good. "Oh, no, I'm fine, did I bump into something? I hadn't noticed." ;)

Thankful Thursday:
I'm thankful for the safe return of loved ones.
For new shows that started up without reruns. ;)
For Kaylee's good health, good humor, good grades, and good heart.
For cleaning ladies.
For chocolate.
For friends who put themselves out without complaint all the time-for example driving an hour today to get time sheets. :)
