I forgot to add this last night, but I thought some of you would 'enjoy' hearing it, so I'll write it now before I forget again. ;)
Apparently the mice at Glenndale decided to declare war yesterday, by running around in public in broad daylight. We frequently get mice out there, because it is an old airport building in the middle of a bunch of farm fields. Mice aren't a shock, but when one ran down an internet wire right by Chuck's desk, down the wall, that was the shot heard round the airport. The traps came out, the cheese came out, and by the time they had left for lunch, they had already grabbed 6 mice. We were all amazed at that number at the time. After lunch we all went back to Glenndale, and the traps were full again. If you opened one closet in particular, you would see live mice trying to eat the cheese out of sprung traps over the carcases of their compadres. It was nasty. The traps were being sprung faster than Steve could keep up with them, so an assembly line was started. Chuck would load the traps, Steve would place them. Within minutes the traps would be set off, and Steve would empty the trap outside and hand them to Chuck to be reset. I mean, they did this for a Long Time, and they were setting Four traps at once, all in the same area!
The job of dispatching the mice was offered to me, but my proposed solution of simply throwing out the traps with the mice and purchasing more traps was met with disapproval. :)
Steve came home and said by the end of the day that the death count, or The Final Score was:
Steve/Chuck: 20
Mice: 0
Mice don't bother me, but that's still kind of gross. Well, I have a feeling the stray cat population is going to increase at least briefly, considering there is now a Mouse Buffet sitting there ready and waiting outside, already dispatched and ready to be a snack...
