Flying and Fighting

This morning Steve and I went out to Kokomo and decided to fly the Baron around for a little bit. He needed to do some from the right seat, and I wanted to do one from the left seat, so that worked out just fine. (And no, the subject title is not from that activity. Ha.) It was a little turbulent, but not too bad. I was also putting out a few more brochures at the airport's main terminal building, and while I was there I found out a senator was doing a press briefing out of the airport that morning on Federal Debt. They had a little podium set up with two flags and everything. I decided not to stick around. ;)

We finished flying just in time to meet Nathan for lunch in town, and while we were eating, Steve got the call that one of our airplanes was done and ready to be picked up from maintenance. So we left there and Nathan flew me to Muncie to pick up the 172. There was weather moving in at this point, but it was still far enough away that we could get this part done, just not far enough away that we could move around planes to where they are supposed to be. Oh well, that's what tomorrow is for...if the weather will allow that is. Not-funnily-enough, on my way home, my DG (the instrument that tells you what direction you are headed) failed. On the plane just coming out of maintenance. On the good news front, the "autopilot" wing-leveler worked just fine. I know, that's only amusing to about two of us, but that's okay...

It was a busy day at the airport; there were lots of planes flying around, which is always good to see.

I debated on saying anything or not saying anything, because it's hard to tell what is Too Much Information sometimes. Neither do I want to perpetuate a notion that everything is always perfect, because we all know life isn't like that. :) But last Monday Kaylee had a bit of a struggle at school. This last week she's done much better, until today. Unfortunately today she had a difficult day at school, though in a different area, and a difficult day at home too. Before bed tonight she asked me why I was crying. I looked at her funny and said "I'm not crying, Kaylee." She said "No, but your eyes are." I told her I was just sad, and I explained (again) why. I just thought that was quite the way to describe it on her part. Seeing that my eyes looked sad seemed to bother her a lot more than getting in trouble did. Nobody likes to disappoint those they love. As I was typing this, she came out with a handwritten note that says "To: Mom Love: K.S. We used to have fun and play and not aregue and fite and cry. I'm sorry I made you sad and you made me cry. Really mom I love you." On a side note, her notes are getting much longer and more easy to read.

Kaylee is also fighting off something I believe. Her head is stuffy, and she has had trouble breathing at night again. We put the humidifier on and the air purifier to try to help, but sometimes she still has had trouble these last few nights.

Still no TV, but I've only missed it occasionally. Mostly the quiet is kind of nice and I've been kind of busy anyway.

Happy St. Patrick's Day for those of you who care. I wore a green sweatshirt to preclude anyone I knew or didn't know from pinching me, and that was the extent of my celebration today. :)
