Sunny Side Up

Wow was it a beautiful day. Warm, sunny, it was enough to send quite a few pilots scurrying for their airplanes. I wasn't one of them, unfortunately. I woke up this morning with quite the ugly headache. I got up, looked at the weather with Steve, decided that it wasn't prudent to make the trip this weekend due to icing concerns for the trip home, took three extra-strength Tylenol and a can of Diet Coke, laid down on the couch with a fuzzy blanket and a pillow over my head, and slept until after 11:30 a.m. When I finally tried getting up again, my headache was better, but I still felt "funny", so I just took it easy up through about 4 pm.

I did some computer stuff and played Wii with Kaylee, then gave her a bath and got us both ready to go to Chuck E Cheese. She chose that as her reward for getting all A's on her report card, and she earned it, so I packed us up and we headed over around 4:15 p.m. When we got there, there were people standing outside in a line. I've never seen it like that before, ever. The wait was about 20-30 minutes to GET IN. I asked Kaylee if she wanted to wait or come back another time, and she chose to wait, so wait we did. There were non-stop birthday parties going, and the manager would escort people in as tables would open up. It was Un Real. They just recently remodeled, and the remodeling was done, so I presume that's the reason for the huge crowd. They have new games and a small play area now, making it a little less...cheesy...than it was before. We were there until about 6:45 pm. *cough* Kaylee ended up winning 307 tickets, which is a personal record for her in one visit, and I ended up spending $35 on bad pizza, good bread sticks, a Pink Princess Cup with a Crown on the Lid, and two $.50 prizes. :) She had a blast though, she was Quite excited, she ran into someone who went to school with her, played with other little girls she hadn't met before, amassed tickets, ran wild freely, and lived up her reward. When it was time to leave, she wanted the prize on the top shelf, which was a Barbie 12 Dancing Princesses castle thing. I told her that was 10,000 tickets and she had 307. She asked if I could just buy the rest of the prize (which you can do). I told her that equated to about $60, and she didn't have enough money to buy that thing. Then she wanted the 2,000 ticket prize of a doll with yellow hair and lots of accessories. Finally she ended up perfectly content with a purple fuzzy eyeball...thing, and ten glow-in-the-dark Spiders. At least she is easy to please. ;) Right now those spiders are glowing in the dark in my bedroom in a trail going to my bed, designed by her to freak me out when I go to go to bed tonight. Of course I don't know they are there so it's going to be a scary surprise. :)

When we left Chucky's, I headed over to a friend's house for a retirement party, where Steve and a couple of friends already were. They had a fire pit going in the back yard, and Kaylee poked at the fire with a stick, swung on a porch-style swing set up in the back yard, and just chilled. Eventually it was time to come home, and she's sleeping in her tent in the front room again. I'm thinking about joining her in the tent tonight just for the fun of it.

One Kaylee Story. She completely can not stand fuzzballs. I don't care if it's hair from her own hair brush, or fuzzies from under a couch, or lint balls from socks in a little pile. She spazzes out any time she sees fuzzies, and if you point them at her, she runs screaming. So today Steve had a ball of fuzz and he was chasing her with it-she runs to her room and shuts the door, and Steve tells her that when she opens her door, the fuzzball is set up so it will fall on her head. She stayed in her room for a little while, then when she finally got up the nerve to come running out, she yells "Hey Genius, it didn't fall on my head." (GENIUS?? lol)

That, and spending several hours working on setting up the members for a Google Group for my SMA Chat, which is NOT going as easily as I hoped (does anything ever?) and that pretty much sums up my Saturday. :)
