Quiet Day

I woke up before even Steve or Kaylee today, which is highly unusual on a Saturday when I don't have to get up. They did get up first, but I was awake first, which Steve will say doesn't count, but I say it does. ;)

Kaylee made pancakes with a little daddy direction, and they spent a lot of time together today, playing with little pets and playing Shrek II on the Xbox. Right now they are cuddled on the couch watching "The Grinch".

I read a book today, the new Jan Karon, and snacked on cherry yogurt covered pretzels and melted colby jack cheese on town house crackers. And Diet Coke, of course. ;)

It was a nice, quiet, family day.

The Karon book had a Latin phrase that made me smile. The pastor was using this phrase to define his wife, and I rather liked it myself. :)

Alis volat propiis

I tried to use an online translator, but it came up with a whacked out translation, so I'll save you non-Latin speakers (like me) the effort; the basic premise was 'She flies with her own wings'.
