Friday Follies

Nothing truly folly-like actually happened today, at least not to me, but who's counting. :)

We ended up with another inch or two of snow, but not enough to delay the schools any, much to my dismay. I've made the mistake of staying up too late two nights in a row, and I never was good with low amounts of sleep. This morning I rather dragged myself out of bed, got Kaylee to school, came home, and went right back to bed. I don't think I've ever done that, except for maybe a time or two when I had a bad headache. I slept for another hour and a half and when I woke up I was still a little tired, but at least felt ready to get going.

I did some paperwork for a few hours before heading over to Glenndale for Friday lunch. Judy made chili for our crowd, which is about half or less its normal size due to the cold and snow. That's okay, more for the rest of us. ;)

After I picked up Kaylee from school, I made a stop at UPS, then took her to Target. She got all A's, so I let her pick out a reward, and she chose a "Littlest PetShop" thing. When I first pulled into the store, I could not believe how packed out the parking lot was. I thought "good grief!" for a second, until I realized that it's now 2 or 3 weeks prior to Christmas (GULP), and that I've now officially reached my all-time Least Favorite Time of the Year. The post office has lines backed out the door, and you can't go to any store without making it a massive ordeal. I don't like stores under normal circumstances, but stores where you are wall to wall people, huge lines, hikes to get to a parking spot, and everything is rushed and often cranky, well, Bah Humbug again.

No, I'm not getting Christmas cards out this year (no matter how much Kim harasses me about it!) but you all know I love ya. ;)

Anybody who reads this to whom I owe an email or job, thank you for being patient...

Kaylee story: On the way home from Target today, Kaylee told me that from now on she was going to tell on herself when she did something wrong. I asked her why, and she responded with "Because I'm trying to be a good person. And if you do something wrong, and you tell on yourself, you'll get punished, and that will help you learn how to be a good person." I asked her if that had been a conversation at school, and she said no, that was just what she thought. So we had a little conversation about it for the rest of the trip home to fine-tune a few areas of her thought process there. She's something else. :o)

I was supposed to fly with a student in the Cub for several hours very early tomorrow morning, and it actually looked like the weather would cooperate...but the flight is now cancelled, which is bad for the pocketbook and good for the sleep schedule. Unfortunately, I have two lessons scheduled for Sunday that probably will have to be cancelled for weather. We're supposed to get sleet/ice/rain. It will probably end up being a good weekend to camp indoors with warm beverages and fuzzy socks!
