Well, here comes one of the first big Winter Storm Warnings of the season. They're calling for anywhere from 6-12" of snow by Sunday, depending on who you believe, with winds gusting up to 40 mph, meaning it will be one piled-up mess. So today I went to the store to stock up on the all-important items you need In Case You Are Snowed In For Days. You know, things like toilet paper, milk, cough medicine, hot chocolate, ice cream, frozen pizza...oh yeah, fresh fruit, you know, stuff. ;) Chuck brought our snow blower home for us so we could have it to clear the driveway after the snow is done falling. Of course we haven't used it in years so have no clue if it will even start, but hey, at least it's here instead of trapped at Glenndale like last year. You know, where you can't get out of your driveway to go get your snow blower because you don't have a snow blower to clear your driveway first? :)
It was actually a busy day minus a several-hour break at the airport today. I went to bed around midnight, then woke up every few hours all night long. I saw 2, 4, 6, 7, and finally I got up at 7:15 a.m. I should have been exhausted, but I was amazingly...alert. After I took Kaylee to school, I came home to get some stuff, then went to the bank to make a deposit and headed to Glenndale to take the 172 out of there and into Kokomo. The runway was a bit soggy in the middle, but nothing too exciting-though I wouldn't have wanted any more weight in the plane. As it was, I made it off the runway just as it was getting to the soggy part, and I could feel the drag increasing. I put it away at Kokomo, and Chuck came and picked me up and took me back to Glenndale. By this time it was past 10 a.m., so I figured I might as well stay out there instead of go home and do some work. Fortunately I can remote desktop in from the office to my home computer, so I got some work done anyway for a couple of hours, until it was time to break for lunch...
After I picked Kaylee up from school, it was Crazy Errand Hours. I didn't get home for over two hours. I stopped by the post office again, went to Fed Ex and shipped off two things for SMA Support (which took awhile), went out to Glenndale to put some boxes in storage, followed Chuck, who had the snow blower, to my house, and went to the grocery store to stock up for the snow storm. I was not the only one with that idea. The store was packed out, with lines all the way back into the aisles. That's always fun. *coughs* Once we got home, it was now dark and even colder, and I hauled everything in and put it away, fixed a nice stir-fry dinner with rice and chicken and veggies, cleaned up, etc.
Steve's supposed to fly tomorrow morning, though the odds aren't currently in his favor. And Kaylee's supposed to have a school Christmas program Sunday, and the odds aren't currently in favor of That happening either. It may be a very quiet weekend around here!
