I'm making my daily post early this time, because I have a feeling anything of interest for this day has already happened...and not much of that.
I went to bed around 12:30, and I couldn't lie down and breathe at the same time, so I took some cold medicine. It took well over an hour to kick in, and finally I got to sleep. Unfortunately it lasted about 2-3 hours, and I woke up, *Wide* awake in fact, and filled back up. I took more meds, it took another hour to kick in, and then I hovered in a 3/4 awake state until I had to get up at 7...which I was wide awake to see roll around but too tired to want to get out of bed for. You know that feeling you get on cold medicine where you are far removed from your current position just watching what's happening? Your nose is *too* dry now and your head feels to be of an interesting size and consistency? That's me.
To further torment me, it's a beautiful, perfect Fall day. It's one of MY days. Warm enough for me to wear a t-shirt, cool enough to be refreshing, the rich colors of fall, light winds, no clouds. Half of me wants to take a slow ride to nowhere special and half of me wants to go up and do some work requiring concentration for awhile. Even if I took along a copilot for safety, with my sinuses this full, I'd pay for it painfully. Here I've been twitching to fly, and today is the day, and...I can't fly like this. Whatever the non-Christmas version of "Bah Humbug" is, that's what I'm saying.
I've heard that if you dress better you'll feel better, but today I could only manage a shower, hair combed, make-up on, and a clean t-shirt. I couldn't stand the thought of scratchy jeans on my achy skin, so I left loose sweat pants on, and I went out in public that way. I had to stop at the bank and the post office and go inside both times. Had to fill my car up with gas, and I even stopped at the office to drop off business cards. I'm sure I looked like I felt. And I didn't care. I made it back home and I'm not planning on leaving again until I pick up Kaylee.
Kaylee is off on a school field trip, Steve's working, Chuck & Nathan are off on a road trip picking up something for the Cheyenne, Ty is doing girl work at the office, and me? I may try to come up with a Top Ten, but other than that, I feel a couch calling my name...
