Wow it's pretty today. It's so pretty, I actually felt like flying something. Of course the Baron is in Missouri for maintenance, the RG is at Muncie for maintenance, the Citabria is at Sheridan for maintenance, and while I'm on the roll, not that I could take them, but the Cheyenne is gone on a trip and the Mustang is down in the hangar for maintenance. The Decathlon is buried so far back that to fly it I'd have to empty out a hangar to get to it, and the Saratoga is being worked on too. Even the Cub was flying on a lesson this evening and afternoon. So, if I wanted to fly something, it would have to be one of the trainers. If tomorrow is this nice, and I have time, I might have to unbury the Decathlon for a quickie.
Today was Errand Day. Steve had a bunch of little stuff he'd gotten behind on that he finally handed over to me. It's amazing how much time a bunch of seemingly little things end up taking in a day. Just going across town to a bank to do one thing and then going out to Kokomo Airport to do another, and Glenndale Airport-they're all on different sides of town, and it's 15-20 minutes driving (or more) to get from one to the other. After I did Steve's errands, I had a few of my own to run. Goodwill, the post office, writing a couple of checks, shipping some SMA Support stuff off, a stop at Soupley's, and of course picking up Kaylee from school (and taking her to Awanas and picking her up from there).
Kaylee was in a bit of a mood today after school, finding fault with everything. She got back on a kick about her hairy legs, and then she got on a kick about how she used to be cute when she was little but now she's not cute any more. She wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese, then McDonald's PlayLand, then Burger King, then Steak and Shake, and didn't like my answer to any of those. She said her friend K was mean to her today, and that made her have a Very Bad Day. Then when I told her I understood bad days but that she needed to stop complaining about everything and change her attitude, she burst into tears and said "You Don't Love Me For Who I Am!" Meanwhile, I'm in the car on the way home saying to myself "Are we THERE yet??" :) A rest and a snack later, she seems back to her cheerful, happy self.
Our mayoral candidate won by a landslide. Now I just hope he's good for the rest of Kokomo too, not just aviation. Nathan, Chuck, Steve C. and myself went to Chili's for lunch today, and it was apparently the place to be today. We ran into the main political guy at the airport, and another table full of them sat next to us playing cards at the table. Everyone was pleased with the outcome of the election...
I got my $3 check back from the Photo Booth people. You know, the booth that ate my $3 when I tried to take a photo with Kaylee? Well, they spent $.41 to send me the check for $3, but at least I got my money back. ;)
