Gripe and Whoops

In a few days, for the first time in 12 years, I'll have to "spring" my clock forward for Daylight Savings Time. STUPID Indiana people voting this in...They've tried every year and finally this year they succeeded. As if we really gain an hour. As if messing up the sleep schedule of everyone is worth pretending it's really 9 pm instead of 8 pm. Sheesh.

I just read the below, which I don't think I'll tell Kim Neel. :)
---------------------------------------------

Flying ties for the most dangerous profession.
Loggers and pilots tied last year for the dubious honor of having the most dangerous profession in 2004. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics says both groups had a fatality rate of 92.4 per 100,000 workers. This ranks above fisheries workers (86.4 per 100,000), and structural iron and steel workers (47 per 100,000). In 2004, 109 pilots died on the job. Twenty-two were flight crew for airlines and 87 were commercial pilots. The numbers were down from the 2003 data, when 114 pilots died on the job.

Well now isn't THAT cheery? Ha.
