Missouri and Myrtle Beach

Wednesday night I flew back in the 340 with Dustin from New Orleans, late at night. We brought back two other ladies with us, and it was a smooth and uneventful flight home. I got in bed around midnight, and was up at 5 am Thursday for the longest day I've had in awhile.

Morgan decided she wanted to go, as it would help her get current in the Cirrus since she's supposed to take it to Louisville this weekend for me, but hasn't flown it in a month and a half. We flew Stephen at dark to Trenton, Missouri. It was raining and storming and we had to work around a lot of stuff, but we got there. Stephen was gone for over 4 hours, so Morgan and I took the crew car in and got some fancy coffee at a place and sat and talked. Drove around for awhile, looked around, and then came back, topped off the Cirrus at the self-serve pump, just in time to be ready for Stephen whenever he got back. Flying home I also had a bunch of weather and rain to go around, took longer to get around it all than you'd think.

I dropped off Stephen and self-serve fueled the airplane again, and Nick and Val were waiting there for me to fly them to Myrtle Beach, SC. It's about 3 hours down there, and a little more than 3 hours home.  Morgan decided she wanted to go on that one too, even though she had to wake up early the next morning, and we wouldn't get home until late. I actually sort of tried to talk her out of it as it wasn't necessary, but she wanted to go anyway, so off we went.

On the way down, I used the Starlink to order us some dinner, because we hadn't really eaten today. We landed, Door Dash showed up 5 minutes late, we ate and headed right back out. I ordered Mahi Tacos, and they were spicy but good. ;)

We get back to the plane, and I have Morgan fly the last leg there. We go to take off, and her door pops open. It hadn't been locked. We have a conversation about it barreling down the runway, where I say "it isn't going to close on in the air, you'll have to abort" and then we do abort the takeoff, tell tower, taxi back, lock the door, and try it again. It just made us even because I hadn't gotten the mags all the way off after we landed. Oops times two. ;)

We got back to Frankfort at 11:30 pm, I put the plane away and sent her home, got home around 12:30 am and got to bed around 1 am. I was up at 5 am that morning, so it was a good 20 hours I was up and out of the house, for about 12 hours of flying total in the one day. Long day, and I woke up this morning rather beat up and draggy feeling.

Today I was supposed to fly in the Bonanza with Brad but it was IFR. I was supposed to fly with Ashley in the Champ but the weather was iffy and I felt iffy so I canceled. We're supposed to fly down in the C-45 to Louisville and now I don't know if that's happening or not as it's IFR down there and we have a window to make it down there before dark, IF it gets VFR enough. I don't know that it will. I'm about to find out in the next 15-20 minutes whether we'll try it or not...
