Last night I don't remember right now what all I did, but let's see. Steve and AE left for Oshkosh that morning. I know around 4:45 pm I met up with Chuck and Morgan at Harvey Hinklemeyers to keep up the tradition, give Chuck something to do, etc. Afterwards Morgan and I took the Champ up for about half an hour. I just rode around while she did the flying this time. Then we decided to go out for a beer. Well, beer for her, I don't like beer, so mixed drinks for me. We weren't sure where to go since neither of us has been to bars in Kokomo. So we decided to try two different vibes. The first was outdoor seating with lights and such. There was live music inside and it was so loud I had to go right back to outdoor seating because it blasted my senses. We stayed there until it started to rain, and then we decided to go round two. Round two was at what you'd call a dive bar. But we actually found that to be more fun and relaxing and entertaining. I only had one drink and then went with water after that. Then Kaylee calls me, and I pick up and she's like "What are you doing drinking in a seedy bar and why aren't you answering my texts?" So I pick up my phone and look, and sure enough I have a string of texts from her that I hadn't heard go off.
Are you drinking right now
At a seedy bar
You okay?
Idk if you're alone, but do you want company? I love you
She called her Dad, who informed her he was sure I was just fine and I was a grown-up. But bottom line? Kaylee stalked me, saw I was at a bar, was there for several hours, didn't answer her texts, and she was afraid I was sitting there depressed drinking alone at a seedy bar, and if I hadn't answered the phone when she called she would have walked through the door to check on me. I told her I wasn't old enough to be mothered yet, but I do appreciate that she cared. ;)
Today I thought I could have the day to myself and chill, but instead I had to work the first half of the day. Then Kaylee came over and hung out for several hours and we had some chats. Then Steve called and talked 2 or 3 times. They got things set up at Oshkosh, and I go pick them up tomorrow in the Aerostar.
Tre is a little better on the confusion, and is being transferred to a normal room now. They said she has pneumonia. Still no idea what the confusion and incoherence was. No other news from the family, not that I expected any this early on.
Tomorrow morning I fly the T-6 with an engineer from Israel's son, and then go get the boys from WI.
