Continuing

Steve is outside mowing in the 93 degree heat at 7 pm to get it done for the last time before he leaves for Oshkosh in the morning. Then he's going to come in, finish billing, finish packing, and finally be ready to head out.

Nathan's family decided to hold off on services for him until 1) Tre is out of the hospital and feeling better, and 2) after Oshkosh, so his flying family doesn't have to go back and forth or choose to miss out on pre-paid arrangements and plans or miss out on his services. So that'll help, and that let Steve know it was okay to go ahead and go with AE tomorrow. Steve is looking forward to this vacation, needs the week up there to unwind. I'm not sure that I do need the whole week. The sweating and the port o pots and the tiny shower with limited water with long hair, or the hike to the shower house to bathe in public, all things I get tired of relatively quickly. ;) I also don't know if I can actually relax up there right now. But maybe I can, maybe once I get up there I will settle in and be able to unwind a little myself. We'll see. I have a few miles to go before I get there. The one thing I did was secure ramp space at Fond du Lac for the Aerostar from Tuesday through Sunday.

This morning I was up at 5:45 am to take the Cirrus with Morgan and Clay over to Peoria, IL. We were over there for several hours, went into town to go to a coffee shop and have a cold brew and a yogurt with fruit bowl, hang out and talk. Went back to the FBO where it was good and hot, and I worked on uploading receipts, updating logbooks and flight sheets, that kind of stuff. I flew us there, had her fly us home. Then we came up with an elaborate plan. Tomorrow I'm supposed to take the Cirrus down to Indy Exec for an oil change and maybe some other maintenance. I needed a ride. So. When we landed at Frankfort and dropped off Clay, I got out too, and drove my car back to Kokomo Airport. Meanwhile, Morgan flew the Cirrus up to Kokomo. I got out the Citabria at Kokomo and flew Morgan back down to Frankfort, where she picked up her car and drove herself home to Noblesville. I flew the Citabria back to Kokomo where my car was, put it all away, and now tomorrow morning all I have to do is drive to Kokomo Airport, pick up the Cirrus, fly it to Exec by 8 am, and Morgan will drive past Exec Airport at 8 am and pick me up on her way back up to Kokomo Airport to start her busy instructing day, and my car will be there. See? Convoluted, but it should work smoothly.

Nathan's brother Kevin wanted to meet up today, but I had to be gone, so he had lunch with Steve, Chuck, Tall James, and a couple of close work people, and everyone had a toast in Nathan's honor today, his 79th birthday. I sent a text at noon that I was there in spirit. Kevin also talked to Steve some about how things will start to be settled. But Tre and Tall James will be the ones we deal with in regards to assets, airplanes, etc. (At least it won't be one of the daughters, although she has her voice in mom's ear heavily.) Nathan hadn't kept Kevin in the loop on anything, which surprised me some, but not 100%, because his communication skills were...not great. But Kevin didn't know the Cheyenne was for sale, had a broker, or had two offers on it already. Now he knows. I didn't know either for sure until now. So when I flew it to PA, that was likely the last time I'll ever fly it. Weird thought. Not a happy thought, but not a new or surprising one. We'll be getting together at some point to start ironing out what happens. With the hangars, the airplanes, the stuff in the hangars that wasn't ours, all the stuff. But not this week.

I don't know what else off-hand today. I'm tired, got a few things to do still tonight. Onward.
