While he was preflighting the C-45, I took out the T-6 for the first post-maintenance test flight in six months. The winds weren't that bad of a crosswind yet at 8:30 am. I did two takeoffs and landings, I only had 1 hour worth of fuel on board anyway, so I had to be quick, plus he was waiting to go fly. It was fine when I was flying, and by the time we went to go, it was Not fine. So it goes. But I really enjoyed my quick little flight in the T-6. It felt goooood. So nice. *sigh* I miss that.
Next flight was supposed to be Jerry K doing his flight review in his Citabria with me at 1:30. But again, the winds. He hasn't flown since November when he fell on ice and hurt his leg, has been in PT/rehab, and is just now able to climb into his airplane, back seat only. He's 89, turns 90 in August. He has to get a flight review every year in his specific plane for his insurance. So we tried to do that today too, and canceled for winds.
Last flight of the day did go. I took the C-421, with John to fly down to Nashville and pick up Neil B and another guy. It was an easy VFR flight, went well, other than the door cable snapping when a big guy stood on it. Three and a half hours later and I had dropped them off and John and I went back to Kokomo and put everything away.
Steve and I went out to Foxes Trail for dinner before making it home around 9 pm. I got up yesterday's post finally below. Tomorrow is an early morning, 5-ish, to drive to Indy to pick up the Cirrus to go to northern Michigan...
