House

Steve is still sneezing his head and blowing his nose off. He doesn't feel too terrible other than the head cold thing. He's not even really coughing. Today I woke up with a slightly scratchy throat, feels like from nasal drainage, some sneezing and an occasionally runny nose. I feel fine, but I can tell it's coming. I took my zinc for whatever good that'll do.

We mostly worked around the house. I cleaned off my side of the rolltop desk, which is always a chore, as that's where paperwork goes to die. House bills that were paid but not filed, letters I need to answer, formation card proficiency forms I need to file or turn in or toss, cards from family/friends, medical test results, letters from my doctors, quizzes from the warbirds groundschools, just all the stuff you're not ready to throw away, but you don't have a good place to stick it, either. So I cleaned all that up. Looked through the flash drives I had over there, deleted what was on them since I didn't need it any more, and put them in the drawer for blank flash drives. I need to get a baby gift for Rania and Tre as their baby shower is 3/21, which I forgot until I saw the card I had over there for them. ;) Stuff like that. I always find it liberating to have things organized and decluttered.

I also broke apart a 3 lb Hershey bar and put it into two gallon baggies. One for the house, one to take to the airport. I was going to take it all to the airport, but I ate a small piece, and it was actually pretty good stuff, better than the small store bars. So I kept some after all. Steve has already found it.

We decided to get rid of the rolltop desk that was on the side wall by the kitchen, and the grandma-style knick knack shelf that was over the top of it. I like the blank wall and don't want to put anything on it. It opens up the room/space some to have that gone, makes things look bigger.

Alonna had given us a little Himalayan salt rock light/oil diffuser smell good thingy and it looks cool, I like it. We set it up on our kitchen counter today, and in the dark room it glows nicely.

I hadn't really eaten much today so ordered in Mexican for dinner. Fish tacos caught my fancy. I cleaned out the fridge, too, and took out the trash. Cleaned up email. Load of dishes, cleaned up the kitchen. Got a delivery of a bunch of groceries we needed, still forgot walnuts and chicken ramen noodles, because I can't ever go shopping without forgetting Something. So now I have a note on my laptop for groceries and maybe if I track what I remembered I forgot after it was too late, I can remember for next time. If I remember to write down anything else that I think of before then. ;)

All in all, the day was productive. We slept in until 9 am (me) and 10 am (Steve), because we "leapt ahead" by an hour and didn't get to bed until 1 (2) am. I'm glad though because when I started writing this at 8 pm, the sky was not already dark. I love that. I need the extra daylight. It makes me want to go do things.

I used to stay up until the time "leapt forward" or back. Now that I'm 53, I don't need to see it to appreciate (or hate) it any more I guess.

Tomorrow is an early morning trip to Kokomo, over to Delphi, pick up two, take one to Danville, IL, drop him, go to Henderson, KY, wait on him, then reverse the order, all in the 340. Weather looks fine, which is good considering I'll be coming down with that cold now...

This was my iPad setup on the Zoom meeting for the CAF groundschool. I was sitting in a desk chair in our office and had to stack the iPad up on books on top of our little fridge so it wasn't shooting up my nose on the world's most unflattering angle. I'm upper left. The others are some of the T-6 pilots. I did the checkouts or flew with all of them there in my or their T-6, except the middle top square who is Candy, not a T-6 pilot at all but Wing Leader so attends these groundschools too.
