I enjoyed my trip home by myself above the clouds listening to music and playing a game up at 26,000' all alone. It was peaceful, and relaxing, and nice.
So I came home because I was tired, told Steve I was going to try to take a nap and then I'd thought about flying the Champ because it was sunny and warm and a perfect day. He said "YES, you need to go do that!" Later when my nap was unsuccessful, he said "Get out of here and go fly the Champ. You need a smile on your face." So I did. I took a picture of myself smirking in front of the airplane to send to Morgan who I knew was in Indy and would want to be flying the Champ too. She fired back within seconds and asked if I'd still be there in an hour and she'd be on her way. lol
I hit all the things and flew for 1.2. Then when I knew she'd be getting close, I started flying down the highway until I spotted her, flew over the top of her a few times, then headed back and landed and picked her up. She flew for the next 45 minutes or so, then we topped it off and put it away, and both had a smile on our faces.
Steve wanted Outback, so I ordered it from the hangar, picked it up, brought it home, and we enjoyed steak and a new Statham movie, "Shelter". Good end to the day. Nothing on tap for tomorrow. Monday is a trip to Missouri (Malden, MO).
Iron Mountain, Michigan, which is still quite frigid up there
