They did six tests. Hs-CRP screening, Stroke/Carotid Artery Plaque Buildup, Peripheral Arterial Disease Screening, Bone Density/Osteoporosis Risk test, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening, and AFib screening. I already know I don't have AFib, but it was part of the package. I'm supposed to get my results for the rest online within 2 weeks. They said if there was anything they felt was critical, they'd tell you there, or a physician would contact you asap, otherwise it shows up in a couple weeks. Last time everything was clear, so I expect the same, but like I said, wanted to stay on top of it since it's been 5 years.
Oh, the testing lady liked me. The one who checked me in said that I was one of only two people who pre-registered so I was good to go without taking 15 minutes of her time to ask all the questions. And one of the tests required a finger stick with blood draw in a pipette thing, and that lady said "Wow, this is great, you're actually hydrated and flowing well!" LOL Apparently a lot of people come in there not hydrated and she spends 10 minutes trying to squeeze blood out of their finger and they're only supposed to be in her booth for 3-4 minutes. She liked my hydration. Hey, I'm trying over here! ;)
Indiana recently had a political fight about redistricting. Trying to "Gerrymander" the seats to pick up more Republican seats. Lawmakers were threatened, swatted, all sorts of stuff. I'd heard both that it was people who were threatening the lawmakers if they Didn't vote for it, and people who were threatening lawmakers if they Did. Regardless, these are scary times we live in, where lawmakers and their families are threatened with their lives based on political proceedings and votes. As far as what they were trying to do, I'm against the gerrymandering from the get go. It's been going on for....well, since the beginning. I don't like that (supposedly) MA is 36% Republican with 0 seats, CT 42% R with 0 seats, Maine 46% R with 0 seats, N Mexico 46% R with 0 seats, NH 48% R with 0 seats, RI 42% R with 0 seats, HI 38% R with 0 seats, Delaware 42% R with 0 seats, and VT 32% R with 0 seats. But I therefore can't say that I want Indiana to be 40% D with 0 seats. Everybody's voice should be represented appropriately. I never have liked the "he did it first" descent down the "Let's All Do The Wrong Thing" Highway. When we redistrict every what, ten years normally, if we can get it more appropriate representation for ALL the states, that would be great. Tilting all the states in one direction or the other while that party is in power is just...destruction of the system waiting in the wings. If it's not already too late. I didn't want Indiana to vote for that redistricting. And I want them to make it right in other states too. I guess that makes people from both parties mad at me. Oh well. ;)
We have a new fireplace heater thing on our deck. It's supposed to heat better, while reducing the moisture on the deck. Steve fights mold and moisture on the deck all the time, and he's hoping this will take care of that. It's vented out the top, and we have additional insulation up there now too, so he's excited to have his deck looking good and hopefully functioning well. We both really like the look of the faux fireplace with the stove pipe out the roof thing too out there. It's nice!
I've been trying a laser hair removal thing, on my peach-fuzz face. They aren't known for doing well with light colored hair, and even though my head hair is reddish brown, my arm/face hair is very light. So I don't know if it'll work or not. But I don't like using super harsh chemicals on my skin over and over to burn it off, I don't like ripping it out with wax and stretching out my skin all the time, and I don't want to shave it like a man, either. I've heard that the "shaving makes your hair grow back thicker and stubbier" thing is an old wives tail but is it?! Plus I don't like how it feels on my face. So I'm trying this. We'll see how it goes. Watch, repeated laser blasts to your face gives you brain cancer or something. :p (I just googled it--no link between that and skin cancer, at least, so that's good. Does say it can change the texture of your skin or hair. That would be weird. But seems rare.)
Guess that's about it. Going to go watch "Boston Blue" and then hang it up for the night. Tomorrow we're supposed to get some weather, I guess, but I have nothing on tap for the next two days, so I don't know if I'll have anything to post or not. But I'm not feeling all that bad, I'll be all right, this has been a wimpy illness compared to the last couple times, and all will be well.
