End of the Road

For Ethan's 340, that is. This morning I flew us over in the Aerostar to Ohio to pick up the 340. The new contacts I had put in two days ago were fine that day. The left eye got blurry the next day but the right was fine. Today they both filmed completely over--while I was up flying. Morgan and Steve were there too, so I told them I couldn't see for crap. I finally saw the airport about 3-4 miles away from it, and made the landing, and then pulled out my purse, my contact solution, and my old contacts that I had in there, and replaced the left eye with an old contact and the right eye just stayed filmed over so I would get over it hopefully by tomorrow.  ;) At least I can see with one eye well enough, I've gotten used to that.

Morgan and Steve flew to Frankfort, I took the 340 home, and when I landed, it was the last time we'll ever fly that plane. It has been sold, and is waiting on the new owners.  I took out my headset, my charging cord, recorded the last hobbs, and walked away with a little pat. It was a good airplane. I went into my (electronic) logbook and made that plane "inactive" so it won't show up on my list of planes when I go to add a new entry, went into FlightAware and turned off the alerts on it so I won't get texts and emails when it files/flies IFR.  Did the same thing for the Meridian, which is also gone. I put the MBros 340 back in there, and the 172RG, but when (if?) (when?) we get a Cirrus and a TBM, those will replace those slots.

Morgan flew us back to Kokomo, and then we ran into town for lunch. I went through the car wash because my poor car is a mess. The place nearby has been sold to a new place called Tsunami Car Wash. I went there today, and they were backed up because every person that came through had to be re-registered with the new company, one at a time. I got through there, got home, and the car wash didn't even touch the front, the rear, or the bottom 2" of the sides of the car. You can clearly see the line where the brush went and stopped. It's really bad. I hope they can tweak that, or it's useless and I won't be paying for it.

Steve, Morgan and I drove down to Sheridan and had pizza with Chuck, AE and Allan. I brought home leftovers for tomorrow, and a gluten free chicken fajita pizza for Kaylee.

I'm working on a lot of scheduling, organizing, for some upcoming trips. Have to get a hotel and car for Monday, gonna spend the night at Iron Mountain, Michigan. Maybe two nights, but hopefully just one. Conquest is going up there to get the fuel leak fixed (hopefully). Funny thing is there isn't any Hilton affiliate within 50 miles of there so I have to do it the hard way vs the easy app way. ;)

So now Friday is Nebraska/Iowa, Monday is overnight in Michigan, and Wednesday is Christmas Eve and hopefully home. I just realized I need to have food. Hmm, I'd better think about that. Lol

Blow these up and you can see how bad the car wash was.
