Kissimmee

Sunday I didn’t do anything, much. Steve did some work around the house. Kaylee came over and hung out for awhile. We watched several movies including Tombstone. Steve says “Do we have to watch this, we’ve seen it 100 times” and I said “It’s the best movie ever, so yes.” :D

Right now I’m doing that thing where I type the day’s updates at 30,000’ with Starlink, eating a snack of nuts and peanut butter M&Ms with a bottle of water, listening to XM radio, all by myself in the plane, content with life.

I just finished dropping off Ethan and 4 other guys in Kissimmee, Florida for a work thing they’re doing down there. They didn’t want to leave until 1 pm. I warned them the weather down there got spicy around 3 pm (after we’d get there) and we could leave early, but they didn’t want to get down there that early, so for awhile there it looked like we might not be able to get in at all, whcih seems worse than getting somewhere early. ;) But fortunately the weather cooperated enough to give me big enough holes to be able to safely work around the weather. Then I topped off as fast as I could and got right back out of there so I wouldn’t get trapped by the storms, and currently I have an hour and 40 minutes to go on my flight home. I’ll make it back to the airport around  7:45 pm and home by 8:45. Not too terrible, especially since I don’t have to get up early tomorrow (that I know of so far).

Morgan made it back from Oklahoma with BOB today, all safe and sound, so that’s great! A successful last two tour stops thanks to Glenn and Morgan, put us in good favor for the Tour group, and helps us secure a spot in next year’s tour, which the Beech needs in order to bank money for all the maintenance and other costs.

Ethan was talking today about the costs with the Conquest and how much it’s used, and needing to re-evaluate keeping it, or selling it and getting something else. He probably will, if I know him by now. He’s looking at TBMs or Epic 1000s at the moment. Similar speeds and altitudes, just fewer seats. All his guys are needing to go a lot of places, and him too, and the Conquest doesn’t have enough hours available on it prior to needing inspections to be able to keep operating without going ‘down’ all the time for these costly inspections. So that’s another plane in flux, but…he’ll still need a plane, so the whole job isn’t going away, just probably this plane. Which is too bad, I really like it. The fuel efficiency is awesome, and stuffing 10 people in it now and then is nice too. Plus it’s just now got the fancy new panel with everything automatic and easy. *sigh* ;) It’s okay. Whatever will be will be.

I may need to go to another event with the same folks that has formal attire. Steve said “Just wear what you already wore” but girls aren’t supposed to do that. HE can do that. A black suit is always appropriate for that. And this is coming up in under 3 weeks so I’ll have to figure something out. I wish I was busy that day, but I’m not.

It feels nice being up here by myself in the blue sky and sunshine. A couple hours of peace. Even with internet, bad stuff can’t get me up here. ;)
