We got there, and we weren't too sure what to do to start with, but it ended up being a pretty nice little event! They had about 50 girls there, each with a parent or guardian. They divided the girls up into three groups; little girls, middle school and high school, basically. Each had a different colored wrist band, and their own 'leader'. They went around to each of three stations. A craft area, the museum area, and out on the ramp where there were four airplanes. A State Police helicopter, a flight school trainer, a corporate jet, and a warbird. Each group divided up on the ramp and hit the circuit of airplanes, too. Climbed up in each, asked questions, etc. The kids all had these little passports with questions and such, and they'd have you sign their passport, or ask you questions from the passport and write them down in there. It was a clever idea. They also had a table with a bunch of relatively healthy snacks and bottles of water, for everyone. We got down there at 11:40 am, they fed us pizza at noon (except Morgan and I sneaked away to the restaurant on field), and then the girls all arrived by 1 pm, and we were there with the girls on the ramp until about 4 pm, then headed home.
The trip home was more wandery. I flew down a couple of the reservoirs, flew over Nathan's house to say 'hi', flew over Glenndale, flew over my own house and waved at Steve down there, and then came back into Kokomo. Nice little direct crosswind. I stopped on the ramp, shut down, got out and switched seats with Morgan, put her up front, showed her how to start it, and then we did some taxi practice. Taxied around on the ramp, unlocking the tailwheel and swinging it around, etc. I wasn't in the mood to go fly, with the crosswind, and she wasn't prepared for it either, but it was a nice intro to operating the T-6, the start of one of the last planes I can check her out in. We'll go from here. I want to take it up myself and do some air work and TOLS, and then I'll hop in the back and go up with her and do some flying. She's ready.
Got home, and tonight I have to do laundry, pack a little duffel bag, and flight plan to Boise, Idaho then on out to Bend, Oregon, where we are leaving to go tomorrow at 6 am. As in wheels up at 6 am which means getting there at like 5:30 am. Leaving the house at 4:45 am. Getting up at 4 am. Both of us which means Steve probably will get up a few minutes earlier. Yeah, good times. Going out to Oregon, stopping in ID for fuel, spending the day at the Epic Factory looking at an airplane and going on a test flight, and then flying home that night, most likely. Looong day. The bag is in case we get too tired and spend the night there, but then we'll have to leave early the next morning, because I need to be back in time to take Andy to NY.

Over the top of it. I look ridiculous. Lol
