Tuesday's Machinations

Okay, not really "plotting", but...

I caught up one more day on the blog below, have more to do, like the wedding. I'll try to do that later tonight if I can stay awake, after today's.

Kaylee had today off work, so she went down to her new workplace-to-be and shadowed their In-Patient operations program. She really loves it, she's excited to be down there, can't wait in fact. Her time is running short on her current place, just a couple more weeks max. Steve and I went next door to see her when we got home tonight, because we hadn't seen her in person in almost a week. She was tired, listening to her new headphones, wrapped under a blanket, and hanging out with Molly, tired but good.

It was really nice to be in our own bed last night. I slept pretty hard, and slept until like 8 am, which was pretty nice considering the past 3 days had been not much sleeping at all, and long, busy, kind of hard days. Steve slept in too, and then we both went out to Kokomo, for BOB. They needed me to run it up, which I did, only to have an unsuccessful run. We've got a maintenance problem with the airplane on the right engine mag check. So I left there after that, and tried to catch up on the rest of stuff. I topped my car off with gas, stopped at CVS to pick up some things I needed, then came home, put away just about every piece of clothing I own because it had been worn and washed and set on the kitchen table. I ordered another pair of jeans online, and several other supplies I needed; travel contact solutions, a bathroom hand held mirror, eye liner, you know, just stuff. I cleaned up most of my email, and then cleaned up the kitchen/dining room, organized, put away, threw away, that kind of thing. I was feeling pretty productive, actually, then Steve said he was 90% sure they fixed BOB and they need me to come run it again. I run out there, run it up, and nope, it's not fixed. I go back home.

NOW my schedule goes to hell again. I was supposed to take BOB tomorrow to Kenosha, Wisconsin and do rides all day for the Air Power Tour. Now it's not happening. We're trying to figure out how to get it to Oshkosh, I have to give rides a day up there in it, I'm not sure how I'm getting home from there once I deliver BOB, or maybe Morgan delivers BOB but she's scared to fly it into Oshkosh herself. It's all a mess, right? But tomorrow I'm "off" now, so I have another mission--taking Ethan's 340 over to Ohio for its annual. It was supposed to be over sometime this week, and the weather and my schedule made me completely uncertain as to when that would be. Well, now tomorrow is open, so tomorrow I will do it, weather permitting. That'll at least be one more thing off my list of things to do.

Steve came home and picked me up, and we went down to Sheridan for the CAF meeting. Neither of us wanted to go, but there are some issues there that he wants to keep a handle on, and may need my back up, so we both went, as did Cameron and Morgan who rode with us. We ate a hamburger and some chips, sat through a meeting until 8 pm, and then went on home, finally. Got here around 9:10 pm, stopped over to visit with Kaylee and Molly, and now I'm back to updating the days I've missed on here, Steve is trying to pack for Oshkosh, which he's leaving for on Thursday. I'm not going for almost a week later, because I have to work. Morgan is going with me, for the same reason.

I sent out an email last night to all our clients that we'd be gone the 24-27th. So when does C say he wants his father-in-law-to-be to come visit and have Morgan fetch him and bring him back? Thursday the 24th, and return Sunday the 27th. Which leaves no time for her to go to OSH. She asked him if he saw the email about the dates we'd be gone and he just said "yes". His fiancé said "Can we get someone else to do it?" No, (deleted), you can't. We have been flying for them since October. We have not missed One flight that they wanted to do, including last minute scheduling changes galore on their part. They were flexible once or twice on flights, going the night before for example, and once he chose to airline home rather than go the night before when Sun-n-Fun was involved. In 9 months of regular flying, that's the only thing they haven't had exactly their way. If they think using other pilots will give them 100% the days and times they want, they've got another think coming. And Knowing that she's planning on being gone 3 days, and wanting to schedule her to fly 2 of those 3 days, is rude. She asked them to consider going Wednesday and Monday, and said to get back to her. So she's not really sure what's going to happen there. This father-in-law routinely rents large-scale jets to fly him and his wife around. C/fiancé just wants him to fly in their Meridian, which the gent is nervous about doing, this "small plane thing". :/ We are both a little grumpy about this.

Earlier in the day, I also placed an online order for groceries--the fridge, freezer and cabinets haven't been this bare in ages. The last time I'd gotten food was a month ago! So I had some restocking of the basics to do, and I scheduled it to arrive around 9:30 pm, when I figured I'd be back from the CAF meeting. So that worked out well, and I am *almost* caught up around here. When I do go to Oshkosh, I'll only be gone 3-4 days, so...it's all good.

No pics from today. Who needs to see pictures of laundry on a table (or being hung up) or me cleaning the kitchen or sitting on my laptop, eh? ;)

Oh, also got an email from the airport manager that Kokomo will be closed this fall for runway work. Runway 23 will be closed for months, and Runway 14 will also be closed for at least two weeks. This is a problem. For our flight school, for the warbirds, for all of it. Eye yi yi...
