Kaylee went to Caitlin's wedding, as a bridesmaid, and texted me around 11:30 am and asked me to check the weather for them. They could do inside or outside but the storms forecast were bad. I said it was probably going to storm between 3-4 pm, asked when the wedding was, she said 4 pm. Around 1:30 I texted it had shifted to 2:30-3:30 and would probably just be cloudy at 4, but that I'd hate to be responsible for an entire wedding getting dumped on. I don't know what they decided to do in the end.
We had one wave of really strong storms move through, and I sat here and watched it whip past my windows. Very pretty, very wild, very good to be on the ground. I ran out to the airport to pick up cake balls Morgan had left for me in the fridge, and two small packages I'd had delivered. One of them is a small bathroom mirror Steve uses. It gets marks on it that won't come off, and I don't know what it could be. But it's a cheap mirror, so I got another one and put it in the drawer, so when he comes back he'll be surprised to find a perfect mirror again. ;)
Steve's up at Oshkosh of course. I haven't really heard from him since Thursday, when he got up there, but I have seen where he went as far as food when the credit card charges come through. lol I know he's been to Ardy & Ed's, and Chester V's, and the Pourhouse (brewery), and is enjoying that end of things. Nathan went up Friday. Originally Steve was going to have him go with him, but Nathan brought Jamie along, so Jamie and Nathan are driving up together. Nobody wants Jamie there. Last year he did not go, and it was the best, most relaxing year ever. Nathan is our friend. Jamie is not. If I ever told him that, however, I'd have a part of me concerned he'd come out to the airport and sabotage an airplane to get revenge. I don't think it's an unreasonable concern. He told a couple people he hoped they crashed and died. That was awhile ago, I think he's on meds again now, but still, you get my point. If it occurred to him he could do that while in a rage and/or not medicated properly, he would not have the control to stop himself. I would just hope he's not smart enough to do it in such a way we wouldn't see it on preflight. Wedged rags in hidden places and sugar in fuel tanks took out a couple of WASPs during training when the boys didn't want them there. Just sayin'. Anyway. Dark twist. Unlikely, don't worry, just a rabbit trail of another reason I don't like him. Cowardly stupid people backed into corners or pushed too far can be more dangerous, like wounded animals lashing out and not caring about the consequences to themselves. The people without anything to lose are always the most dangerous. Anyway. Long way to say, most folks are up there by now, and I've got my reservation for Fond du Lac and just have to get through the next few days of bad weather down here so I can head up too, and hopefully enjoy myself for a couple of days.
I watched several Angel Studios movies today, a little feel-good action. Honestly, those movies are really well done, many of them are true inspirational stories, and I think it's pretty cool there's a studio doing that kind of content. I watched one today about a boy lost in the wilderness on a mountain for 9 days. He survived, and afterwards they showed a bunch of footage of interviews of the real boy as an old man, his brother and father and rangers who searched for him, footage of his eventual rescue, etc. It was pretty cool. :) Not sure what I'm going to watch tonight before I go to bed and get up early to head back out to Colorado, hopefully with fewer storms...
That's about it; quiet day around here. Quiet ends in the morning.
