KayJo

Kaylee got the job offer today! She went down to Indy to an event they were at. She met her last person, her direct supervisor, and then was taken back to their facilities to sit in on one of their group meetings. She even spoke up once during the meeting to offer input, which I would not have done, but she would, and that's why she's successful a lot, I think. ;) They liked her, she loved "the vibe" there as she put it. Said they're all young-ish, highly educated, excited and eager, hard working, and the team just gels together, and she feels like she fits right into it, and so do they. So she got home, and less than 2 hours later, she got the call with the formal job offer. She's so excited, and so are we.

She is going to submit her letter of resignation and speak to her boss and friend Jenna in person next week, which is going to be difficult because on Monday next week her boss has to put down Hero, their Husky dog, who Kaylee has babysat along with his sister Ruby, Kaylee's favorite Golden Retriever. I mean Ruby is fine, it's just Hero they have to put down, but the timing is bad for Jenna to lose her dog and her employee at the same time. But Kaylee is going to give them 6 weeks before she leaves, so she can work with her clients, get the long term ones moved over to another therapist, give them time to look for a replacement, not just ditch her team there, in other words. She's quitting as of July 31st and doesn't start the new job until Aug 7th or so, so she has a week off in between to play with.  I just hope the boss keeps her cool, because she's an emotional lady who lashes out a lot, and she's not going to be happy to be losing Kaylee. By the same token though, she always knew Kaylee's focus was eating disorders and that this would be temporary. I just hope this goes well for her. I'm happy for her.

She'll have PTO, some insurance, and control over her schedule for the first six months I think it is, and then she'll be made full time, salaried, and away she goes at a place she feels like she can be happy at for a longer term. Hopefully so. There's usually at least one asshole lurking around, so I hope this ends up being everything she's looking for.

No news on the dad front, no more test results back or anything.

We had some nasty storms run through here this afternoon. Kokomo got more rain that it didn't need (lots of flooding around here, including Glenndale airport which went under water, office, hangars, all of it got wet). Our house is fine. High winds, tree branches, some power lines down, but really all in all not bad.

Tomorrow I have to get up at 5 am, go to Delphi in the Cheyenne, in the rain/IFR, pick up 3, take everyone to Grand Rapids (in the rain and clouds), drop off one, take the other two to Gunnison, drop them off, stop in Pueblo for fuel, go back to Kokomo, probably in time for our EAA meeting, though I may not be able to stay awake enough that late after that day to attend it. We shall see.

I also got my hair permed tonight. Went in at 5 pm, right when the storms were almost done but still dumping. Flat head syndrome was starting, so it was about time. Mostly I'm glad I'm doing it now because the wedding is in a month and by then it won't be so tight. lol  It won't smell so great tomorrow in the airplane either, but oh well. They're not as bad as they used to be at least.

Okay, gotta get to bed soon if I have to get up at 5. *sigh*
