French Lick

Yesterday I took the Meridian over to Muncie to get some maintenance done on it. I haven't hardly flown the thing, so it was good for me to get back into it. It's only a 7 minute flight over, so not MUCH time. I was going to do a bunch of takeoffs and landings when I brought it home, but I didn't bring it home. I ended up needing to leave it there, so Brennan came and got me in the 172RG and dropped me off at Marion where my car was, and I drove back to the Kokomo airport from there.  After lunch then, Steve and I took the Aerostar over to Frankfort to pick up the parachutes for the T-6. They'd been repacked by the skydive place over there and needed picked up. We were going to calibrate the AOA in the Aerostar too, but we took off and the winds suddenly kicked up, and the turbulence, and you need a smooth day to do that. So we just picked up the chutes and headed on back. Steve did all the flying, getting in shape in the Aerostar.

Today started off more on the struggle bus. Nothing was going right, but we had a plan and we executed it in the end. Steve, Kaylee and I took the Aerostar down to French Lick, Indiana, caught a bus to the West Baden Hotel and ate linner in the Atrium. We had eaten breakfast, and nothing since so at 3:30 pm we ate lunch/dinner. I had some hummus with warm soft pita bread, lobster roll, and a white chocolate mocha cheesecake that was all delicious. Afterwards we walked around and checked out the hotel, climbed some stairs, sat in some chairs, looked into shops, enjoyed a little perusing around the area. Took a nice ride back over to the airport when we were done, and headed home for the day, tired and full and satisfied.

It was a nice family afternoon, sort of a "did not die" celebration, on a nice day, with loved ones. We enjoyed.  Tomorrow I'm hopefully going to fly the T-6 for the first time. Looking forward to that, too.
