Quiet Day

Kaylee woke up with a migraine that she couldn't kick most of the day. I suggested water, food, caffeine, rest, and for her to take one of her big guns, Ubrelvy. She can't take Imitrex--it makes her super sick. It's wild how the same thing will affect different people. She can take big doses of some things that gork me out for an entire day. I can take Imitrex and not feel anything but headache relief. Same drugs, they just react differently to each of us. Anyway, she ended up with it dialing down a little bit, at least, and seems to be more manageable.

I was up by 8, because I can't seem to sleep in any more, even with black-out curtains. But I guess that's okay. I was fairly productive today, with some scheduling stuff, answering questions by Andy and Ethan both. Got my meal pre-ordered for my flight to Denver coming up on Wednesday where I'm headed to pick up the Conquest. Got my hotel room for Grand Junction Wednesday night.  Andy is going to Key Largo and there's a private runway there, so I'll be flying into that to pick them up. Will have to figure that out ahead of time, but that'll be different and fun. :)

I wrote my note to the 4th Floor Nurses and Techs at the hospital in Florida. I didn't really include the doctors, because the doctors came in for 30 seconds tops once in the morning, didn't have the same story amongst the 3 of them, and only one of them seemed to give a damn. The nurses and techs? THEY cared. They talked, they helped, they kept me informed, they were kind and compassionate and hard working. They did it all, and the docs would walk in for Literally less than 30 seconds and they'll get the big bills. So I sent my thank you and an update to the PICU, like I said yesterday, it feels right, and if nobody cares, I'm only out a stamp and I'll never see them again anyway, and if they do care, then I feel good about letting them know I lived and appreciate them.

Steve and I watched "A Working Man" with Jason Statham, an excellent shoot-em-up, beat-em-up, kill-em-all movie just how we like them. Twas a good one.

Since all this went down and it settled in, I did come a couple pounds down, and an inch or so too. I'll try to continue that trend as best I can. I did some walking today, and some counter push-ups, not for that purpose as much as just building my stamina and strength back up for now.

I got a little Easter basket for Kaylee as a surprise. She still gets a kick out of it, and this is a fluffy yellow chicken basket that will make her laugh. She'll never think that I thought to do it because I've been, you know, home and down for the last week. Except for yesterday when I was out and about and flew 3 airplanes and got a little Easter something for my girl. ;)  I'll take a picture of it tomorrow when I sneak it on her deck before she wakes up. It has a mug with the letter "K" on it, and a dumb little wind-up chicken that bounces/walks on tables, and a little chocolate, and stuff like that. Nothing fancy but I know she'll appreciate it.

Guess that's about it for now. Doing okay over here.
