All Right

Well, this was a full day of interesting things (to me). I have to fill in about tomorrow, next, below.

First was a typical part of the day, heading to Johnstown, Pennsylvania. It was windy, bumpy and gusty, which helped us on the way there, (1 hour flight) and hurt us on the way home (1.8 hour flight). I had 33 knot winds again landing at Frankfort, but at least this time it was down the runway. While in Pennsylvania, there was a new restaurant on field there called "Balance the Restaurant" which is weird, but it was good. It was so new, it had no signs, no advertising, and the name of it wasn't even in ForeFlight as an option yet. The FBO ladies told me about it, so I walked down there and got breakfast. A lovely latte, a croissant with egg and bacon. And I got 10% off for purchasing fuel at the FBO.

Speaking of fuel at the FBO. They had a $25 landing fee. No problem. Then they had a $300 handling fee, waived with 100 gallons of fuel. That is more expensive than landing at Chicago Midway is!! Most places waive it with like 30-60 gallons. Very few places require 100, and certainly not some place in the middle of nowhere, Pennsylvania! I was like...ladies, really? I said if they topped me back off they'd probably get about 90 gallons, and they said that would be good enough. The good news was that this is a CAA field, too, so the fuel there was actually $.75/gallon cheaper than home. That was a roller coaster ride. "You owe us $300." Oh no. "We'll waive it for fuel" Oh good. "It's 100 gallons" Geez, oh no. "We're CAA and our fuel is cheap" Oh. Good.

Steve, around 5:30 am, wakes me up because he's rolling back and forth, breathing hard, seems to be in some kind of distress. So I put my hand on his shoulder, and he freaks out and completely falls off the whole bed. He's on the ground still asleep, still breathing hard and kind of thrashing around, so I start saying his name kind of loudly, with my hand still on him. After about 3 or 4 of those, he wakes up. He had been dreaming that there was an alligator in the driveway. He went out to chase it off, but instead of running off, it came for him. When I touched his shoulder, he thought it was the alligator starting to clamp down on him, and that's why he lurched off the bed. That was quite a dream!

Meanwhile, I was Awake now, and I should have just gotten up, even though I didn't have to be up until 7:15. But no, I tried to go back to sleep, and then *I* had a weirdo dream where Hannah our office worker was wearing a santa hat and standing on a ladder kissing a blond girl I think was Isabelle (who is married with a baby and neither is gay) and I was sitting in a car with a sunroof inside the building we were all in, and I was with someone in the car with me, and Hannah saw me see them and my phone was up and she said "I hope there's no photo of that!". Meanwhile, Brennan and Harkcom were trying on flight suits that looked more like fancy Nascar onesies. I have no idea where any of this came from, but I do know when my alarm went off at 7:15, NOW I was a little out of it because I had just fallen asleep and started this weird dream stuff. I should've just gotten up at 5:30, I'd have been better off.

And then...Oh no...

I've been invited to a black tie wedding in July in Colorado and I have to go, because it is an honor to be invited. It is an extremely small and intimate wedding in a tiny church with very limited seating. So I have to figure out what to wear to a black tie wedding in July in Colorado, and then I have to go buy that, and not look ridiculous in it. I feel ridiculous just thinking about it. Do you know what women wear to a black tie wedding? Google AI says Full length gowns, heels, a hand bag, expensive or "signature pieces" of jewelry, etc.  Google Images demonstrates photos of these lovely gowns. Do you know who models these gowns on these images? Not 53 year old pudgy women who are only comfortable in jeans, that's who not.

Lord, help me. No, really.

My schedule for April blew up today too. I have several days where both people want to fly somewhere on the same day, so I have several days where I am going to say Missouri and back, and then down to Florida and back. One where I'm going to Colorado and back, and then down to Florida and back--in one day. That is a very long day. But double pay is pretty great. ;) I already have flights for 14 out of 20 days coming up and more flights will fill in on some of those empty days, too.

When I got back from Pennsylvania today, I had a lot of energy, and the sun was shining, and the wind was blowing pretty hard (33-35 knots), and I could hear it blowing in the trees. So on a whim I decided to go for a walk. I ended up doing one mile, which isn't long when that takes you like 12 minutes, but still, it felt pretty good. I haven't had the urge to go for an outdoor walk in a really long time.

So, the grounding sheets. I've mostly been sleeping pretty well, except for the one night, and even after that, the next day I had energy and focus. Mostly I'm getting out of bed awake and not stiff, and I've had more energy throughout the day, so I'm waiting to see if that's a placebo, a fluke, or if it sustains. I think there might be something to it. Joints were already much better after the tumeric stuff, and now they feel pretty good most of the time. We shall see.

I think that's about it for today. Like I said, kind of a busy one!  Now I have to go down and update about yesterday...

It's windy at Frankfort. ;)

Just a little something I saw
