Next, I went on DoorDash and ordered food for the first time that day, and we ate, and tragedy actually WAS averted. I was about Hangry by then. I'm still kind of hangry and I'm not even hungry, but that bad mood settled in and stayed.
The front toilet didn't come off as easily as it should have. The last guy who put it in there put a thick cement grout stuff in there instead of the usual caulk, and Steve couldn't hardly get it off. Finally got that done, the guy gets here, he tries to go down through there, and the flange was loose and the big snake kept rattling it around badly, to the point he was afraid he was going to break the flange and pipe right there.
So to continue the fun, Steve had to go to our back bathroom and take THAT toilet out too. We now have zero toilets.
I went next door to go to the bathroom while Kaylee was gone.
Guy can't tell if he's going the right way so now we clean out the front closet and he goes down into our crawl space a couple of times. Finally he gets on a roll.
Oops, bad news, he cracked that flange back there.
Good news, he didn't crack it, it was already cracked. But it's still cracked.
Bad news, the pipes were blocked with roots as suspected.
Good news, he got them cleared out, and we didn't have to tear up our entire back yard and replace all the pipes.
He suggests we use their services of sending a camera down there--he thinks there's a crack in the pipes already and that we can find the location with the camera, and then put a portal in the back yard for direct access from now on.
Steve isn't sure what to do, because that means we won't have a toilet in our bathroom (or easy access to the shower) until they can get that done.
We go to put the front bathroom toilet back in place, and it was a cluster. Couldn't get the posts/bolts to line up with the holes. He's standing over the hole holding up the toilet and trying to manipulate it in little amounts so that I could line it up without moving the bolts too much out of the way, and it was Not going well. It took half the night. No toilets in a two-bedroom house.
Finally he got it, and we now have one working toilet, with no door on the bathroom yet. *sigh*
He's next door talking to Kaylee and Molly, and I'm feeling grouchy over here. My shoulder and neck hurts a lot. I'm about positive it's a muscle/nerve thing from how I've been sitting and repetitive movements I've been making on my phone/iPad. It's on the right side. I need it to heal up though. I also am weak. Probably from being sick, and then not doing a whole lot of activity for several weeks in a row because of it. But I put the stuff back in the closet, a bin and some shoes, a couple boxes, and moved a blanket shelf thing that's wicker and light back in place. My own heart rate went up to 124, which is stupid for that little of activity. I was tired and pounding heart just from doing little stuff. I'm going to really need to start exercising again. Just not much today. I did also move a large wooden crate full of ammo, so I'm not THAT weak yet. ;)
Nothing big coming up this weekend, maybe taking down a Christmas tree, then Monday I head to Colorado.
