Toledo Painter

The only thing on my agenda yesterday was taking the Cheyenne and flying Coach Painter to Toledo to watch a game where he was scouting talent. I caught up on everything else during the morning, and then was out at the airport by 2:30. Ran up the Aerostar and did an oil leak check on it (successfully), and had it and the Cheyenne topped with fuel and ready to go for the next adventures.

Kevin got there, and I flew us over to Lafayette to pick up Painter. We hadn't flown him for awhile, so it was kind of nice to see him. I get good vibes off of him as a person. Hard working, humble, up front, not arrogant, knows what he's doing, etc.

I wasn't sure how the Cheyenne would act, but fortunately nothing glitched, and all went well.

The game we went to was actually pretty good for a high school game. We started off at the top of the bleachers on one side, only to find out the pep band was going to be right next to us. When we saw them all coming in, we left and went to the other side, and it's a good thing, because those kids blasted. I could feel the vibration from the music on the OTHER SIDE of the gym, let alone if we'd have been sitting right next to them!  lol  Painter bought us a couple of slices of pizza and a drink from the concessions stand, and we settled in to watch the players.  Walking along, I saw one guy walk past Painter, stop, do a super slow head turn with a really confused look on his face, stare at Matt, and be like...nah...I am not seeing this guy in a high school in Toledo, Ohio. It was pretty funny. I almost said out loud "Yeah, it's him". But did not. lol

Typically at these, Kevin is assumed to be the pilot and people think I'm just there to be there, I guess. I've often heard other folks say "This is the captain" or "this is the pilot" and shakes hands with Kevin. It doesn't matter, of course, but this time I heard somebody introduce Kevin as the "Coach's captain" to someone who shook his hand, and then Matt spoke up and said "Actually, he's the owner. SHE'S the pilot." First time, and I have to admit, I did appreciate it even though it still doesn't really matter.

The game didn't get over until 9:45 pm or so. We didn't get off the ground in OH until 10:40 pm. We had ferocious headwinds, and got to Lafayette by 11:30 pm, and then got back to Kokomo around midnight. I put the plane away and got home around 12:40 am, and then had to set my alarm for 5:30 am for the next round.

Purdue's bathroom has always cracked me up. Short, Medium and Tall stools? Mama Bear, Papa Bear, Baby Bear? I've never seen a place do three different in-order sizes of stools before.

This was at the game. Grown woman walking around with her pants ripped out right at her business. Weird, man.

Me, Kevin and Coach at the top of the risers before the game started on a Be Real
