I've spent hours today on my upcoming flights. I mean, from like 10 am until almost 5 pm here with a break for lunch. Tomorrow's weather doesn't look great for my first trip in the Meridian. Low IFR, heavy winds, rain/storms, a lot of factors at play with the brand new owner that I don't feel like getting into. I've been trying to take an airplane I don't know yet and figure out a bunch of stuff. While I'm in the mix of all that, including fuel stop we didn't want and CAA provider and yadda yadda, I get a text from D asking if I can take him to Virginia tomorrow (no), and E schedules two flights for next week and wants to talk about our trip to Oklahoma on Thursday. I look up the weather for Thursday and it's terrible here. There's a winter storm moving through, our first of the year, with low clouds, freezing temps, 40 mph wind gusts, blowing snow and low visibility, and to top it off, in the Cheyenne, which had a basically full panel failure on the last trip from Orlando. We THINK it's fixed by using a different inverter, but not SURE it's fixed until I take it on another trip. It doesn't show up on the ground or after a quick local flight, so you have to take it somewhere to actually see what happens. Doing that on a shit show of a day isn't something I care to do. So I'll probably be trying to move them to Friday or Monday when the weather should be windy but at least better. But I have to call them tomorrow at my first stop on the ground in Georgia tomorrow after coming in when IT'S forecasting fog and minimums for my first leg on my first trip in the new airplane. I'm delaying them a bit so hopefully it'll be just IFR and not minimums/fog IFR by the time I get there. A lot of moving parts.
I am tense, will be until this gets resolved and completed to everyone's satisfaction including mine. Safely, of course.
I don't have any real news. Kaylee is happy with her cat, Molly the cat is happy with her person, Steve's just been doing billing and accounting and trying to get the prop shop to get back to us about BOB's prop, and life just goes on.
