I went with Nick in the Conquest over to Urbana, Ohio. It was a 26 minute flight over. There was rain, some storms to go around, no big deal. There's a little cafe on field, and it's the only place to really sit there, so I went in there and had "The J-3", which was two eggs, bacon, and toast. The waitress there pointed out the window and said "That's a nice airplane", and I said "Thanks". She said "That's YOURS? YOU flew that here?" I said Yep! She didn't leave my table for 10 minutes. She asked a ton of questions, started showing me videos of her daughter who is a singer in Nashville trying to break out, said she never sees airplanes that size in there and she hadn't seen a woman pilot here before. We were only there for 2 hours, and when I fired up and taxied out, the waitress was there outside waving wildly goodbye at me. I made a friend. :)
I got back home by noon, but our house was being cleaned so I went next door. Tried to nap but my phone kept going off and I couldn't really sleep. So I've been catching up on billing, paperwork, receipts, logbooks yadda yadda. And the blog, too. Go non-stop from 5:30 am to 11 pm three days in a row and you get a little bit behind. I need to sleep in tomorrow if I can.
I don't even know what interesting things I missed to tell you about that wasn't flying related. Well, probably nothing since I've sat in an airplane for basically the last 4 days straight...
See the rainbow over the fuel truck there? :)
Storms off to the left and a bit ahead
