This afternoon I picked up Chuck at his house, and drove us out to AE's farm. AE had gathered a ton of scrub brush, tree branches, and chopped up big walnut trees. We started off eating homemade stew and biscuits, and then had a huge thick peach pie and homemade vanilla ice cream for dessert. It was great. :) Then we drove out to his back lot and lit that bonfire, and it was Huge, as always. In fact, it was so big, that it burned the ground in front of it, and Steve and I had to walk around and stomp on little ground fires. It was great. First thing that made me smile in a couple of days.
We hung out until dark, watched the roaring fire and talked and laughed, and then Chuck wanted to head back home once the sun was down and it started getting cooler, so I brought him back home and came on back.
This was my toast to myself last night.
Cheers to getting close but not actually into a P-51 for the second time!
