Made It Round Two

Kaylee has only been "off" from her internship for two days, yesterday she stressed and took that test, today she went to Indy, and this evening she called and said she's already bored and going stir crazy. She can't start her job until her degree is conferred, and even then it won't be until the 19th (if it's done by then), so she needs things to do.  Steve told her to go travel and visit a friend, take the time to set up her apartment, clean up, organize, work on projects. Instead she sits at home and doom scrolls and doesn't know what to do.  Crazy kids these days.  So Steve suggested she could go with me to my next Air Power History Tour stop. I'm flying BOB out to Lincoln, NE on Friday morning, and Morgan is coming with me, and now Kaylee says she is too. Kaylee will stay with me in my room, of course, and Morgan in her own, but it'll be weird having those two together and I'm not sure I like it. ;) I don't need Kaylee telling Morgan things.  lol  Everyone always asks if Morgan is my daughter and now my actual daughter will be there, so that ought to mess people up!  I can't believe Kaylee is so bored she's going to go on an airplane tour with me while I am busy giving rides all day! She's going to be so bored and hot out there, too!  lol

This morning was accomplished, but another "what a day".  Up at 5:30 am, took the Aerostar with Cameron left seat, me right seat, Steve and Shelbe back seats. I instructed Cameron all the way to Pennsylvania, and then Shelbe and I picked up the Cheyenne while Steve and Cameron took the Aerostar on their "first solo" in the plane without me.  I beat the Aerostar home by about 30 minutes. Cameron loved flying the Aerostar, and Shelbe loved flying home in the Cheyenne. She said she'd never been that high, had lots of questions, and said she had to say she thought this was bad ass. I used to do a lot of trips like that, but I'd been so busy it had just been me, and I missed taking people along for whom it really means a lot. So the last two days when I've gotten to let Brennan fly, and Cameron, and Morgan, and Shelbe, it's been fun.

The Conquest has Yet Another Problem. I took it over there to look at the autopilot, a simple little problem. They tested the servos and said the roll servos failed. $2200 per servo and 7-10 days minimum to overhaul. I'm like "okay, put it back together and we'll bring it over when we have time for it to be down". Nope.  Now that they tested them, if they put them back in and we use the autopilot, we run the probability of frying the autopilot mother board/computer/whatever. I don't understand it, but he said "You have three choices. Leave it here for 2 weeks. Take it home and fly it without an autopilot. Or take it home, use the autopilot, and probably fry your new autopilot computer."  I got so mad. AGAIN. I have a trip to Colorado on Thursday, and I have to hand fly it?? And then a trip to Vegas the next week, and I have to hand fly that the whole time?  And then another trip to CO the next day to pick them up and hand fly that?  It's too much. So then I have to ask Kevin to use the plane I just picked up after THREE MONTHS and use it a bunch for someone else? Ugh. Ugh. So stupid. Would've been good to know this testing could down the plane for 2 weeks. We'd have freaking waited. The autopilot issue wasn't that bad, it was manageable. But now...down.  *sigh*

Tomorrow morning I'm taking the 340 with Nick to Lunken, Cincinnati, OH at 7:30 am. So another 5:15 am wake-up call tomorrow, third or fourth one in a row.  Another *sigh*
