Cleaned up from that, and we had Chuck and AE over for the afternoon. Steve grilled out brats and burgers, Kaylee made some gluten free mac and cheese, I had regular buns and gluten free buns, a veggie tray, some chips, different types of cheese, etc. It was pretty good!
We were all sitting outside enjoying the summer evening, and Kaylee wanted to take her car through the car wash. She's never been able to drive through the car wash before, she's always been scared of doing it herself, not sure what to do, or if she couldn't line up the thing, or whatever. So I went with her. Only problem is, she has a paper temporary license plate which was ripped off in the middle of the car wash, and shredded. So we left there with no plate on her car. The BMV doesn't open until Tuesday, you can't reprint one online, you have to go in person to get a replacement, and it's totally illegal to drive around without a license plate at all.
So Kaylee and I went out to the trash bins and pulled out today's bag of trash, because Steve had just put it on today and replaced the old dealer one, and he said he threw it away. So we're pulling out all the soggy paper towels and bacon grease things and food prep and meat prep things from today onto the ground outside, soggy papers, searching for this thing, until I got to the area of trash I knew was from yesterday or the day before. I yell over at him, "Are you sure you threw it away?" and he gets up and finds the plate in the trash in the garage. Not gross, wrinkled up, messed up, or buried. We shot him dirty looks as we put all the trash back in the bag, back in the bin, then went inside to wash our hands. *sigh*
That plate isn't legal any more, but it's better than not having one at all on the car. I can't get a new one until Tuesday and then we have to get it to her and get it on her car. So she'll have to not speed until we get her true plate on her car again. Of all the silly things. Kid has never driven through a car wash. She's had the new car almost a month. TODAY we put a paper plate on it, and TODAY we go through a car wash. Derp.
I got a lot of my schedule figured out today. I got a list of stuff from Ethan and Andy, and I organized it, scheduled it, and put it all on an email and sent out to everyone, and they said it all sounded good. It's a lot of flights, fortunately, because I need that. Starting soon. And I THINK I'm even going to be able to go up to Oshkosh this year. :)
