Procrastinate Day

Today was the day I did all the things I'd been procrastinating on doing.  Well, not ALL the things, but a majority of them. From cleaning off the top of my desk and doing the projects waiting for me on it, (ordering a couple of parts, ordering a graduation photo, putting away medical records, etc.) to the dang scheduling. That took so much of my day. Scheduling with Ethan, Andy, Glenn, the APHT, one of the T-6 checkouts, which I'm now going to have to REschedule because of the Air Power Tour, events, training, sign-offs, all of it.

What's a little frustrating is that for over a year and a half we've been told that I'll be super busy with two clients, 3-5 days a week or more with one, let alone both, that there's a concern I won't be able to keep up, but it hasn't materialized. For the longest time the plane was down, down, down, and now it's down again, but the other plane isn't, but the other plane has been listed for sale. Even when the plane wasn't down, since the beginning of the year, I have only had a total of 10 flights total with Andy.  He just canceled my next two flights with him, for tomorrow and Sunday. I have had 22 flights total with Ethan plus a few charity or maintenance flights since the beginning of the year.  Originally at 3-5 days a week, I'd have had a MINIMUM of 12 flights per month for just one person. In six months that's 72 flights, minimum, per person.  Instead, I've had a total of 32 flights in six months with Both of them combined. And when I started trying to schedule other things, I got feedback that I needed to be available, that they may need to hire a full time pilot.  I'm trying to be the full time pilot. I'm here, I'm ready, I've made myself available, I didn't do anything else all of last year. I skipped Oshkosh, I didn't take on any T-6 checkouts, I didn't even instruct.  So I find myself a little... frustrated.

Met Nathan, Chuck, AE, Ty, and Jamie for lunch, before coming home and working on the rest of my scheduling. I don't make it to lunch a lot any more, so it's nice to see friends.  The rest of the day I finished my Sunday stuff--laundry, dishes, and the rest of my paperwork. Some photos. Some emails. Yadda yadda.

Tomorrow I do have a flight for Ethan, taking Amber to Grand Rapids for a drop off in the morning. It'll probably only be a half day thing, as I should be back before noon.  I have to be at the airport before 6:30 am, so that means leaving the house by 5:30 am, which means getting up at 4:30-4:45 at the latest. So now that it's 10 pm, I should probably go to bed...
