Today's adventure was sleeping in until 8 am, eating a late breakfast of eggs with green olives and fresh mozzarella balls, and a piece of carrot cake for dessert. The carrot cake was hand made by Hannah, our worker at Kokomo, who is leaving for 2 months to go get her Master's. She wrote on the cake "I will miss you guys", and then in parenthesis at the bottom, she wrote "(even Brennan)", whom she has a sibling like relationship with. I like Brennan. He's quiet, smart, funny, hard working, has a great grin and sense of humor too. She harasses him all the time, it's fun.
Then I went out to Kokomo with Steve, and we waited for Tora Tora Tora to appear. There were supposed to be two of them for 1-2 days. Now there are three of them and they need space for two weeks. I probably won't have that much space for that long, as I'm hoping the Cheyenne is back a lot sooner than that. They were arguing amongst themselves on who was going where. I got the two planes tucked in the big hangar, and the third one was just getting gas and moving on, but it had a dead generator, so it ran the battery down. We tried to jump start it with one thing, it didn't work, so Steve went down to the RG hangar and got the tug out, which is comprised of two 12-volt batteries together to make a good 24v system jump starter. After much effort, including running the tug on its motor down the hangars behind the golf cart I was driving, we got the T-6 jump started and they were off and on their way.
One of the Tora guys gave me his number and said if I ever needed anything to let them know. I figured I wouldn't ask to fly their planes around the patch just for fun. ;)
Dinner at Pastarrific with AE and Chuck and Steve, before coming back and watching "Knox Goes Away", a movie about a hit man with bad dementia trying to do one last thing to save his son before he loses his mind completely. The whole mental failing makes me uncomfortable to watch.
Tomorrow I'm going to fly a new Texas Taildragger C-150, black and green, to get ready to teach a guy in it. But I'm going to check it out first by myself.
Two Toras
And the two that stayed. Checkertail, and Tora Tora
The guys getting ready to try to get this one started
Five people wondering why it didn't work the first time.
