Annoyances Abound

It was supposed to be rainy and icky today, but it wasn't as bad as they thought, and most of our students got flights in today, except for one CFI who canceled all his students without actually looking at the weather.  Same poor guy has a checkride with a student scheduled, didn't tell anyone, it's tomorrow at 8 am, he wasn't planning on being there, and he didn't have anyone to open the office, get the maintenance logbooks, go over them with his student, nothing. Like...what are you thinking?

Anyway, so I went on an IFR cross country with my student, A, and we went to Goshen. We asked for the VOR approach in, and they asked if we could hold so they could let someone else in ahead of us. Sure, that's great practice. So we did a VOR hold, but it went on and on, and now we're running late. A plane underneath us is doing the same thing VFR not talking to anyone, so they can't really clear us for the approach. We go to shoot the approach eventually and have to dive down to get away from that guy. Shoot the approach, there are 3 people already in the pattern. We land, and we are now late, but we can't take off again. Formation RVs doing tight laps and overhead breaks, other traffic in the pattern, we're on the ground for a long time.  Coming back into Kokomo, the Champ calls downwind when we're on a 10 mile final, then base when we're on a 5 mile final, and I never hear from them again and can't see them. So we break off our approach and do a circle to land instead, only to see the Champ on the runway already.  Extra late.  Plus the next people were doing a cross country so they needed fuel. I call the fuel truck, the guy comes over and cannot get the truck to work. Extra extra late. He phones a friend who comes out and helps, and then they stand there in front of the truck and talk. Finally I walk back and say "These guys are leaving whenever you guys are done".  Just one thing after the other that was doing that "rolling a boulder up hill" kind of thing. It was frustrating. So I was hungry, and I walked into the hangar and said something about it, and Steve said "Shoot!" He'd sent someone to get food, but didn't get anything for me.  Lol.  We caught the guy before he got back here and he stopped at McDonald's for me.

When I left the airport, it was to go to the Imaging Center, where I had my first mammo in 3-4 years. After the experience, I remembered why I hadn't done it in 3-4 years. The lady doing the imaging is picking up and placing all parts of you, smoothing, pushing, placing, it is So Freaking Uncomfortable. Standing there in broad daylight in a little cape like Super Girl open in the front while some lady stands there holding your boobs her in hands before flattening them in a machine and telling you to breathe in when there's not a lot of room to do that.  Twisted my arm up to get some additional PT stretches in on my rotor cuff too.

This day had one string of not pleasant after another, so when I got home, I fell asleep in my chair, woke up and ordered Japanese to enjoy while I watch TV by myself while the guys are outside around a fire smoking and drinking. I could go outside too, but today I just wanted some time to myself to unwind!

This is the mellow little "wait room" you sit in in your little open cape while you wait for the images.
