Well Then

I guess I will write two posts in one day after all.

First, Steve has been dealing with a stye in his eye for almost 10 days. It makes his eyelid red and swollen and painful. I went to CVS awhile ago and got him some eye cream for it, and it helps, but he can only put it on really at night because you can't see through it.  lol  It's finally doing better though.

Did I call it or what, on the Iowa game? They came out hot, were 12 points ahead of S. Carolina. First quarter was a barn burner. Then they went cold. They stayed even the 2nd Quarter, dropped a little behind the 3rd, and lost by 12 points or so by the 4th. They never got it back, and they got beaten when they didn't need to. They could have taken them, they proved it in the first quarter. But they just kept missing the shots, dropping the ball, getting sloppy. They went cold and never got it back. *sigh*  Now I just hope Purdue can do okay tomorrow.

I woke up this morning to see Tuesday's weather was NOT going to work to get to Florida. So we started scrambling. I got on the phone with Jordan, JP, Rocky, Kathy, the hotel in FL, Morgan, gosh, all sorts of people. I had checked weather, fuel stop, timing, the NOTAM for Sun-n-Fun, the taxiway diagram of where I'm supposed to go, and we started rearranging.  We are now leaving first thing tomorrow morning instead of Tuesday. The weather looks good, and it gets us down there so we're ready to go Tuesday morning first thing with rides, like we're supposed to. So I'm flying to Terre Haute with Steve, Morgan and Jim, dropping off heavy oil and such for Jordan to take with him, and picking up JP and Kathy, heading to Georgia for a fuel stop, then on down to Lakeland by 6 pm.

That meant today was on the run. Rearranging hotel and rental car, all of it.  Then I had to pack for a week, in one soft sided bag that'll fit in the nose of BOB with everyone else's stuff too. I'm still working on that, but I'm close. I had to place an order because I ran out of a few things I'll need, and that's being delivered by 11 pm.  Took care of some personal appearance items, replaced my black purse with a tan canvas one that'll be more Spring and Florida and lighter anyway, made sure I had all the cords I needed, charged my ear buds and my remote watch charger.  Brought my BOB shirts and my BOB shoes (heavy duty shoes so my feet don't hurt after stomping on those rudders with a bar in the middle in my normal thin soled shoes) and my stupid flight suit and CAF shirts.

I think I'm ready.

We leave the house around 7:45 am tomorrow, out at the airport around 8, BOB serviced with oil and preflighted, every airplane in the hangar pulled out, BOB pulled out, every airplane in the hangar put back inside, closed and locked up, and wheels up with 4 of us no later than 9:15 am.

Let's go.
