Mid-afternoon I went out to Kokomo and took the Champ up for an hour. Put in some music, and pounded out 3-point, wheel, one-wheel, and engine-out landings. Started off feeling a little sloppy, which is why I go do that every once in awhile. To get back in the groove. The last time I'd done that was a year ago. Wow, I just looked it up. I'd been in the plane since then, but always as the instructor not actually doing the landings. So yeah, I needed that.
I was up flying when I got a text from Cameron that says "I see you" with a video of me in the Champ. lol I thought he was at Purdue all day for the Derbie stuff, but he was at his grandparent's. So I texted him back that he could come out and go flying with me to get his currency back if he wanted, he said he'd be there in 30 minutes. So I finished up until everything felt good. Ended up pulling the power all the way out on downwind, coming around, slipping hard down final, landing on the left main, then the right main, then the tailwheel, on the centerline, smiled in satisfaction and shut it down on the ramp to get gas and pick up Cameron. He hadn't flown the Champ in 6 months, and his first landing was better than my first landing. Bum. ;)
I drove through Popeye's Chicken on the way home and brought home dinner, and then we're just watching Equalizer and Tracker on TV while working on the computer and getting ready for tomorrow.
I've got my first PT appointment for my shoulder at 8 am in Kokomo here, and then I head right to Frankfort to take Andy's family to West Palm Beach. My fingers are crossed that I can actually get to southern FL and back without EDCTs and stand downs and delays. Going to Florida is not fun any more. The only word that comes to mind any more with Florida is not G-rated. "Shitshow". That might be two words, but...it fits.
Kaylee finished her big project tonight, and only has two more assignments to do tonight. She's feeling motivated and getting it done. She's closing in on finishing up everything for the semester. :)
Steve mowed the yard, trimmed it, and sprayed for weeds and bugs both. Oh yeah. He told me that in the mornings he's twice seen very large spiders running across our bathroom floor. He killed them both, he claims. But the problem is, I go in there in the DARK in the early morning or late night in order to not wake myself up too much to be able to get back to sleep. I've been walking in there when there were at least two large black hairy spiders walking around in there. I can't go in there again in the dark, so now I'm flipping on all the lights. I'm very unhappy with this situation. But he did spray today, so hopefully they'll stay out of the house or maybe just die. Dying would be fine. Bastards.
On that note, here was my air therapy today. ;)
