I had worn a t-shirt today. It was cooler, in the 40s and 50s, and windy, but I refused to wear a sweatshirt mid-April, decided I was revolting. And it was fine in Indiana and Ohio. But then we picked up the Conquest in Ohio, and Morgan and I dropped the 4th guy, Mark, off in Flying Cloud, Minnesota so he could drive a new work truck back home to Indiana, about a 9 hour drive.
While we were in Minnesota, Morgan and I decided to grab a car and go get brunch. This is where my t-shirt decision went south. It was 36 degrees and snowing in Minnesota, with gusty strong winds, so the wind chill was about 13 degrees, and we had to walk from the parking lot into brunch, and hike to the car even at the FBO. It was freaking freezing, literally. Morgan was in a sweatshirt and she was shaking with cold and here I am in my t-shirt. HAhahaha. Whoops.
Coming in to land, the winds were again rather violent, and we got kicked around with Low level wind shear, moderate turbulence, a little ice, snow, and a lot of wind. I shot the RNAV approach in but the ceilings weren't super low, so as soon as I had it in sight I just flew it in. Fought the airplane down final, and the poor guy in the back was making noises and murmuring, exclaiming, heavy breathing. I landed nicely, and he said "That was a nice landing especially for as windy as it was". Lol
The winds were super strong, we had 80 knot headwinds down low, and on the way home, I had 133 knot tailwinds up high. It took me over 2.4 hours to get there, and 1.2 hours to get home. I flew the leg with passengers, and had Morgan fly us home when it was just the two of us, from the left seat. She did well. She's catching up. :)
We got our new couch delivered this morning. One section had a crack in the framework, so they took that back out, and our couch is extra short for a few weeks until they get it back to us. It looks a lot like our old one, but it's in great shape, and super comfy and cushy. No broken down seat or arm. Yay!
I ordered Japanese for dinner while Steve is on the deck with his buddies. Kaylee is gone, and tomorrow is just a local day, depending on how windy it is, I may go play with the Champ, or T-6. Or maybe not because it may be gusty again. Maybe Sunday. We'll see...
