Since I only had one student, I did some other stuff. Ran through the car wash, and stopped at the vacuum stations and vacuumed out my car, too. You know the one thing that will not come up? My hair. I have shed a lot of hair in my car and it does not vacuum up. I used my fingers to hold it up to the vacuum but there's still hair in there. Annoying.
Got my packages, paid bills, updated my logbook and billing, then went out to Kokomo and flew in the RG with Eric, doing two instrument approaches. Except the gear warning horn stayed on the whole time. Bzzzt Bzzzt Bzzzt Bzzzt the entire time. It was...annoying. Super annoying. We 'ignored' it enough to do one VOR approach at Marion and a Localizer 23 approach at Kokomo, and then landed in the 25 knot gusty winds, and called it a day, pulling the plane into the maintenance hangar so they can try to fix it for tomorrow, when it has like 12 hours straight of flights on it.
After that, I drove out to Glenndale, and Morgan and I took the Citabria up for a good 1.7 hours. It was super windy, so we went up to Wabash by her friends and family's houses, and then landed at Kokomo to top off the airplane, and by then the winds were more calm, so she did a bunch of take offs and landings. Headed back to Glenndale at sunset. Put everything away, and I stopped by Arby's on my way home at 8 pm. The sun was still out at 7:45 pm and it was SO NICE.
I ordered some house supplies on Amazon, cleaned up some receipts and paperwork, hit a load of laundry, basically just got stuff done that needed done. It was all good.
Tomorrow is two legs to Ohio in the 340. Good weather, should be uneventful.
Lots of sunset photos from today.
Oh yeah, and the airspeed didn't work. You can see the "steam" gauge is reading almost red line, and the "glass" gauge is blank on airspeed. It wasn't workin' at all until we landed for fuel and I manipulated the pitot 'cover'.
