Virginia

I do have one new piece of interesting news.  Sunday I was supposed to go to Marco Island and drop off a family. But the weather in Florida this coming week is cold and wet.  So much so that the family isn't going down Sunday, not until Wed-Thursday, and maybe not at all.  They said if you're going to be cold and wet, might as well not waste the money to be cold and wet in Florida.  Ethan and family were also going to go to Florida, and they are canceling that for the same reason. They will let me know by Saturday whether we're going to try our first Bahama trip on New Year's Eve, or just let it go for now.  Meanwhile, Dustin in the 340 today said his family was supposed to go to Florida next week and they too are considering just canceling because of the weather.  I did not know so many people went to Florida over Christmas/New Years, but apparently so, and as of now, most of them I know probably aren't.  So I shall be home Christmas Eve all day after all. As of now, anyway.  Things do change rapidly around here. ;)

I was wiped out yesterday, so I went to bed at 10:30 pm, and then woke up at 3:30 am and never got back to sleep. So that's no fun.  I got up at 6:50, got ready, went out to Kokomo around 7:30, pulled the 340 out of John's hangar, moved the tug back over to our hangar, added oil to both engines, and was ready to go by 8:15.  We flew to Stafford, Virginia, which is right by the Washington DC "ADIZ" airspace. It took over 2 hours to get there, and just under 3 hours to get home.  Here's a weird one for you. An online friend of mine knew I was going into that airport, because he lives not too far from there, and was driving with his family today to go to New York for Christmas.  He happened to be on the highway driving past my airport right when we were landing. He took photos of me on final and texted "Is that you??"  and it was.  The ODDS of that.  He's just driving along on a highway and passes the airport the exact time I get there.  Wild.

I arrived, and behind me was a jet.  I walked in and asked for the "first come first serve" courtesy car for food, and he said it was going to the jet guys.  I didn't end up getting real food today until I got home, just a vending machine Snicker's bar and a cup of coffee.  We left around 1:30 or so, I got home around 4, put the airplane back away, ran to Culver's for dinner, and finally made it home around 5:30. I was getting pretty hangry by the time I got to my food. I have replenished my peanut butter cheese crackers in my purse again, too.  ;)

Need to get some stuff done around here tomorrow. Steve wants to go to Kaylee's and caulk her bathroom, wants me to go along, and normally I wouldn't mind, but I haven't been home and I have some things to finish up...we'll see.
