Home

I woke up early this morning, and was checked out and walking out the door by 7:40 am.  I hadn't realized my go bag had run out of deodorant so I had to buy some at their little Hilton shop. I had one choice, and I've smelled like a baby's butt all day.  The walk over to the FBO was much shorter than the walk back from the terminal, AND I was able to stay on a sidewalk the whole time.  Also helped. ;)

When I got to the FBO, it took them an hour to get my plane pulled out and topped off. They left my gas cap off and someone had removed the right arm rest, so there's a hole there with stuff showing, which was weird. But finally I had preflighted (very well), and was on my way.

Last night it took me about 11 hours door to door to get from Kokomo to Wichita via Houston.  This morning it was a 3 hour flight plus another hour to get to my 'door', from Wichita to Kokomo. Alone, non-bothered by other humans.

Spencer passed his ATP checkride today and is type rated in the Embraer 170.  Yay for him!  He may stop back by on Monday to hang out a little. I think I'll be gone again, but I'd like to run into him again.  He's like a combination between one of my kids and a co-worker/friend.

The flight home today was uneventful, great weather, and the plane held together, so all good things.

The app.  "Flight Sim" is the 2nd option down

They do landing tutorials

Then some full approaches

Have I ever considered a career in aviation?  Hmmm, maybe I should!

In line at the TSA.  Love this.  So much.

First class meal. It was a 4-cheese lasagna.  It was actually pretty good!

This, however, is not great. Dark, windows closed, guy in front of me's chair leaned back into me. Why do people want have a career where they have to spend a bunch of time back here on their way to work to sit up there?  Yuck.

Rainy takeoff in Houston

Sunrise in Wichita this morning

My missing arm rest

How they left my gas cap

Me. Alone. And Happy. In the air. With all the windows open and nobody too close to me. And in charge of my own fate.

The Left NTS (Negative Torque Sensing) light on, which isn't supposed to be on unless I'm having an engine failure. And the right fuel flow at zero, which it shouldn't be unless my engine has quit. For the record, both engines were running just fine.
