Battle Creek

Back to Battle Creek, MI today, for hire this time. I took a guy named Stephen on his first solo trip in the plane on a jobsite. He's being groomed to be another boss in the company, and this was his first time without his mentor/boss.  So he was already a little nervous, and he's not a great flier, has ear issues and doesn't like roller coasters.  So today we had wind gusts 27 knots, crosswind, rough and bumpy, in the air and on the landings.  I had him sit up front with me. I could keep an eye on him that way, and the yaw is a lot less than if he sits in the back.  He did pretty well, and I greased on my landings, too, even getting tossed around quite a bit, so that helped.

In Battle Creek, while he was working, I walked to the Waco Kitchen Restaurant, because a friend wanted me to buy two of the Wah-ko, Wey-ko, Whack-o t-shirts for her and her husband. Might as well get lunch while I'm there.  It was about 1/2 mile of a walk, in stiff cool winds, so I at least partially walked off my burger.  ;)

I've got an airline ticket to fly to Wichita via Dallas on Thursday evening, spending the night there, and then leaving Friday morning early to take the Conquest on a Ferry Permit (long story) back to Ohio.   My airline ticket is a first class ticket, I get to pick a meal and they all sound fancy.  I'll have room to myself in my chair, all the way up front, even.  Too bad it's such a short flight. ;)

"Negative Prist" Decaf.  Cute, Clever. ;)
