Rocky Mountain High

Another beautiful one. These nice weather days, minus that one hurricane one, are spoiling me. I only say that because I know that with September comes high winds, rain, storms, and fog, for about a month straight.  So these days of beautiful weather WILL be coming to a close soon. I'm just glad to I got to get pretty comfortable with the airplane before it all went downhill.  ;)

I read a book all the way to Colorado by myself today. Picked up Ethan and whole family, and the 7 of us came home. The winds were gusting to 35 knots on the surface at Gunnison, so coming down over those mountains got downright sporty.  I had to power way back, and I had trouble talking on the radio even.  It wasn't a super strong crosswind, so at least that part was okay, but man, that descent over the mountains, around the mountains, etc to the runway was *rough*. I may have lost a filling, I'll have to go check.

Leaving was easier. We took off away from the mountains and got up above the cloud deck and the worst of the turbulence before we headed over them.  Made life easier.  It was 7.4 hours of flying yesterday and 7.2 hours today.  Tomorrow is Green Bay, which will be a shorty.

I land and Steve was texting me to bring him food and Kaylee was calling me because she was lonely and wanted to chat.  lol

I'm tired, have to get up early, so I'll keep it short...

Still kicking!
