Behinder

I guess I got behinder.  I did go to sleep pretty early last night, and I don’t even remember what we did. I only gave one ride, with three people on it yesterday, and same today. One ride, three people. I did talk to a lot more of them today though. This place was much busier with foot traffic than any other place I’ve been so far, but I just couldn’t get them to nibble on taking a flight with me. The other airplanes stayed fairly busy, but the B-24 only sold 3 seats for today and the T-34 and I each only had about 3 riders, that’s just three flights for him and one for me. The T-6 and P-51 stayed busy all day, and Stearman was busy in the morning until the winds kicked up.  Just what I need, a gusty windy day, but maybe I did need it.  When I landed from my one flight today, Jeff L from the Mustang Gunfighter came up to me and said “Hey, I am impressed with how you handle the airplane. You do a really nice job with it.” I said “Oh. Thank you” in a surprised voice. That meant a lot coming from him, actually, I felt patted on the head and complimented and I even liked it.  ;) If there’s someone I’d like to impress, it’s that crew, for obvious reasons. I’m not sure what exactly impressed him. It was windy and gusty, but not that far off of the runway.  Hopefully taxiing slowly and carefully and staying on the centerline helped. And not bouncing it down the runway like a basketball was probably good too. Ha.

It was warm and sunny today, and SO nice. It was nicer before the winds kicked up to 26 knots, but still. I talked to a ton of people, had some good interactions with them, and got my one flight I needed to at least not lose too much. money right now for the unit.  I spent some time cleaning on BOB today, but I really need some clean rags, and don’t have them. You can’t put these oily messy things in a hotel washing machine, but even if you could, this hotel doesn’t have laundry services (gasp). I suppose I could go buy some, but we already have a stack of them in the back of the plane all messed up. I dunno. I want to turn it over to Glenn nice and clean and ready to go, though.  I’d really like to give like 4 rides tomorrow. Wish that could happen.

When I get home late Sunday night, first thing I do on Monday is go sign for and pick up my new car.  Woo hoo! :)

The cat has survived my absence, and Steve can’t want for me to get home to take her back off his hands.

Tonight Morgan, Nathan and I went out to eat at Crabby’s Oceanside, on the beach. It was really pretty, and the food was good. I had a seafood pot pie. Mmm. I watched a rocket launch, and this time it actually went off. We had live music, the crashing of ocean waves, and a good day all in all.  I was pleased.

I hate how this puts everything out of order and I don’t know why. Grr.
