Still Here

I don't remember what I did yesterday. Oh yeah. I was out at the airport while Michelle cleaned our house. It took awhile because it hadn't been thoroughly cleaned in awhile, since we'd all had Covid with all the fun side effects. So everything in the house has been scrubbed and cleaned, and it's nice to have a shiny house again.

Today was rainy and dreary.  Kaylee and I went to Meijer to pick up some supplies for the New Year. We got a little hat for the cat, and some food and snacks and supplies, and we're pretty well set up now.  But after going to the store, we were both wiped out.  We stopped at McCallister's for Kaylee to pick up a late lunch, came home, unloaded everything, took care of Ann, all that good stuff.  Steve has the guys over tonight, just a normal Friday.

We heard back from an attorney today. Our insurance company for one of the (multiple) companies being sued by that righteous and moral family who just gave birth to another son a week ago, living in their mansion in Carmel, has sued them back, and US, to remove themselves as not responsible on this case.  So what that means is we have a new case in Federal court, with our own insurance company.  Our attorney isn't Federal, so we had to contact another attorney who is Federal, and he got back to us today.  He requires a $5000 retainer up front and he charges $550/hour.  What are we supposed to do with this??  We didn't turn this in to that insurance company in the first place, The K family did.  Now the insurance company says "That's not our purview", which we didn't think it was in the first place which is why we didn't turn it in to them, because that company had n o t h i n g to do with the accident.  And then they (insurance) take us to court to remove themselves from it.  The whole thing makes me so...angry. We don't have that kind of money.  Which of course the attorneys for the plaintiffs know, and the plaintiffs themselves aren't out any money, they just sit around and wait for their payout.  Chaps my ass.  I wish they'd end up with nothing out of this. I wish they'd end up having to pay stuff out of this, but I won't get either wish. They're also suing Duke Energy and the State of Indiana among other big players and I'm sure somebody will throw money at them to make them go away. 'Cause they won't get what they want from little ole us.  Then they can pick it up off the dresser table like the disgusting hypocritical whores that they are and move on with their fancy selves. My compassion for their losses has been drowned in their own...shit.  And that's sad.  The Bible says love your enemies. I'm going to have to work on not despising them any more first, and that's gonna take some time.  It would be helped if they'd lose, too.

Anyway.  The rest of today, I've been working on some organizational projects. I'm going to hopefully sell Kaylee's guitars, either back to where we bought them from, or on Ebay if I must. They're worth a decent amount and are in new condition.  We sure don't need them sitting around any more, as I have no desire to pick up a guitar and neither does she, any more.  Might as well open up the space and get a few bucks.

Steve's cousin Jeff was supposed to meet Steve for dinner last night around 5. Steve texts him twice and he doesn't answer, but he's really bad at technology anyway, always claims that Steve's texts don't 'alert' him, even though Steve sent one with all of us sitting there and it went through and beeped fine.  Jeff just can't hear, at all, he's deaf as a post, and he doesn't pay attention to his phone.  Anyway. So next  Steve called him, and when he answered, Jeff was out of it. Acting weird. Steve asked if he woke him up, and Jeff was like "No, sorry, I'm just..." and he was just all messed up. Steve asked if he needed to go to the ER, and Jeff was like "No, I just need to wake up".  Steve called Dave, Jeff's brother-in-law, and told him he was being weird. Dave goes over there with his wife, Jeff's sister Mary Dawn, and Jeff's a diabetic whose blood sugar she clocked at over 400 with her own monitoring equipment.  That's very, very bad. Anything over 240 you're supposed to get immediate medical care.  Jeff as a diabetic, for a long time, has no way of monitoring his blood sugar levels. Even so, as a long time diabetic, he should recognize the symptoms. If he wasn't supposed to meet with Steve, if Steve wouldn't have called him and pushed it, he'd have very likely died overnight.  Mary Dawn took him to the ER and he's home now and recuperating.  But what kind of Fool doesn't monitor his blood sugar levels when he's a known diabetic???  An old fool, that's the kind.  The "bury my head in the sand and pretend like none of this is happening because I've been fine this long I'll stay fine" fool.  I'm irritated at him, too. I'm just irritated in general, but that was just Stupid.

No flying today, the weather was too bad. Tomorrow is NY Eve, and I'm supposed to fly MBros to Ohio for a basketball game for their daughter.  That'll be okay, I don't mind the income or the flying, either one.  lol  I'm supposed to go to Texas the end of January for groundschools for the B-29 crew, the T-6, etc. It was a networking opportunity and I have to do the T-6 groundschool anyway.  Now...I don't know that I feel right.  If I can get a ride down with Jordan, I may still do it as I got a hotel room for $89, which is good, and I don't have or need a rental car.  If I have to get an airline ticket down and back, well, then maybe I won't go...  We'll see.

Tired...grumpy...still here.
