Today actually went pretty closely as planned.

We left around 10:20 am and headed to Washington County, Pennsylvania, in the Aerostar. Nathan flew, and I sat right seat. The barometric pressure was SUPER high today, it's been fluctuating a lot, and it was 30.52, and I swear my head is a human pressure gauge.  I felt like it was a little bit in a vice.  I just didn't feel great.  So I laid my head back against the head rest and closed my eyes in an attempt to make it feel a little better.  This is the opportunity Steve has been waiting years for.  I don't sleep in planes, and I wasn't sleeping there, either, but the one time I'll put my head back or close my eyes is if my head is bugging me.  Obviously not bugging me so badly I shouldn't be there, but bugging me a little.  So he sneaked up and took a photo of my face up close with my head back and eyes closed as a payback for all the sleeping photos I take and post of him.  When I turned around he was smirking, and I KNEW.  He hasn't stopped smirking all day.  He is extraordinarily pleased with himself for capturing me like that.  :D  I don't blame him, I am constantly posting photos of him sleeping over there.  Lol

We got to Pennsylvania, landed, I picked up the Cheyenne, and I flew it home at 24,000'.  Nothing exciting happened, which is good.  Landed at Kokomo, let Spencer put it away, and then I drove immediately to Frankfort--well, McDonald's for lunch, then Frankfort, and got in the C-340 with Ethan.  We went up and did some instrument approaches and messed with the buttons on his Garmin 750 and autopilot.  Then we landed at Kokomo, got gas, picked up a heater from Steve, got back in the plane and went to Delphi, where we picked up his business associate Nick (who goes with us on a lot of trips) and his two little kids, a boy and a girl.  They were SO excited to be in the plane, and they were fascinated by it.  It was a glass smooth evening, with the sun going down, and the giant moon rising in front of us.  They loved it.  We flew them around for awhile looking at the lights, runway lights, city lights, the lights in the sky, and then landed and dropped them off, and he and I went back up and did three full stop takeoffs and landings at night at Frankfort to get night current in multi for him.

So to recap the day.  I was PIC in the Aerostar, the Cheyenne, and a C-340.  Picked up a plane from maintenance, shot 3 instrument approaches, did night currency, and introduced a couple of kids to flying.  All in all a pretty productive day.

Tomorrow I do the Twin Beech checkout and I'm just nervous about the whole thing. I hope I sleep well, I hope my head doesn't hurt tomorrow, I hope I can get the Aerostar out by myself tomorrow morning, and I hope I do well and that he's not too hard on me. I don't need hard right now.

Ann's nurse tonight said that she was anxious and combative so she gave her the new pill a little early, and that once it kicked in, Ann was a totally different person.  So I'd say that's a good thing...at least we know it works.  We may need to give it to her twice a day not just once or something, but...at least it helped.

Kaylee's having a blah day so she came home to see me, except she didn't ask first and I was gone all day.  So she talked to her dad for awhile, and she and I texted when I could and was low enough to get cell service, or on the ground.

Steve's doing great.  He's on the deck with his buddies having a cigar and a drink, after successfully capturing his wife "napping" in an airplane for once. And he has pumpkin pie in the fridge. His day almost couldn't get any better.  ;)

The moon rising over Frankfort. Cellphones never do it justice.

The picture Steve is so proud of.  ;)
