This was one of the only nice weather days we've had in awhile, that didn't involve rain, clouds or wind. So we took as much advantage of it as possible. I was out at the airport at 8 am, going around the pattern with Ana, to get her back in the groove so she could go out and do her first solo cross-country. Success!
Next up I had a first time tailwheel lesson with Morgan, who just got her Private in the 172. She showed up with her hair all done up pretty, said she was going to prom tonight and already had her hair done. I said "Mo, you're going to smell like an old airplane after this!" She said she didn't care at all, it wasn't HER prom, and she'd enjoy this a lot more than she'd enjoy the prom anyway. She's an introvert too. Lol We had a great flight, she did a really good job. I think she's going to pick this up really fast.
Afterwards Nathan and Steve and I went to Mexican for lunch, and I had all these really good beef nachos with queso cheese. Steve lets me know that I have another flight after all, it's in the Champ, a flight review. So right when we get back, the flight review is waiting, and we go up in the Champ, and do some takeoffs and landings at Glenndale, short field, soft, crosswind, Runways 18 and 36 both, slip to landing, go-around. Then he says he wants to do spins. I joked about how I'd just eaten a bunch of Mexican food. Lol I talked him through the first one, and then he did the second spin all on his own. After #2, he said he was getting queasy so we stopped that, but the mission was accomplished anyway.
Steve and I met Kaylee at McCalister's Deli as she had some tax forms and stuff she wanted help with. So we ran over there and spent an hour and a half with her, had a good salad and these cream cheese filled snickerdoodle cookie sandwich things that I'm going to have to go back and get while they still have them. Those were amazing.
It was a good day, filled with good flying and good weather and good accomplishments. I enjoyed today. :) Good thing, because tomorrow is a nasty, stormy, windy, IFR day of not going anywhere.
A few photos of the back of Morgan's prom hair. lol
