New Days

Sure enough, we woke up to fog this morning, and the low IFR hung around all day.  It was okay the rest of the way once I got to Springfield, but *super* windy out west, low level wind shear, and Wednesday is supposed to be icky in between, so we shall see.  If it's nice, I'm going to be mad, because if I'd have just gotten out of here I could have gotten this job done.  So I hope it's not nice, frankly.

I sent in all the information the producer asked for as far as the commercial segment goes, and as far as the head shots, I sent one flying in an airplane with a headset and sunglasses and no smile, one flying in an airplane with a big smile, one standing outside with no sunglasses or anything on, and one from inside the house with a kind of smile.  She said the director just wanted to "get an idea of what you look like" and to send as many as I wanted.  So I told her (it was a her not a him like I said yesterday) that here are a few photos, no filters or Photoshop, but obviously no under-the-chin or harsh light ones either.  Lol  She got back to me and said "Those photos ROCK! I've sent them on to the director and the executive producer, and someone from the team will contact you should they want additional information or to get to know you better.  Good luck with the casting process."  I know the Chicago area has female pilots a lot younger and...better suited...for TV, and I sort of doubt I'm what they're looking for, but they contacted me first, so hey, whatever happens, right?  lol

I spent a fair amount of today rearranging from yesterday.  Got ONE of my flights I'd canceled rescheduled, the rest are gone.  At least I have one tomorrow if we're not fogged over again in the morning, which we may be. But that's an act of nature, and so be it.  :)

The days have still been productive though.  I got Ann some soup and some groceries, got my car washed, did the producer thing, checked the PO Box for money, rearranged my schedule a bit more, talked with a few folks, got me, JP and Nathan on the same text chat about the C-45 groundschool we're supposed to be doing in a few days, and tonight we have a CAF meeting via Zoom that we're going to be 'attending' here in about 30 minutes.

On to Hump Day already.  Lordy I need to look over the C-45 stuff...before Saturday...

I'm back to add: A friend I told about the commercial said, as to the "narrative" of "pilot recovered and back in the skies", he said "Recovered from WHAT?" And you know, that made me laugh out loud, because they didn't say, so it's probably something like:

"Here's our pilot, a middle-aged lady with HPV leading to anal cancer, recovered thanks to our facilities, and back in the skies!"

I could be the face of some weird medical condition! Haha!
