Peopled Out

The day started at 18°, and got up to I think 22 or so.  Funny how that felt almost warm.  *Almost*.  Except the part where I had to walk back and forth from the maintenance hangar to the 172 hangars twice each.  That wasn't so warm.  But the sun was out, at least for part of the day, and that felt pretty good on my face.

I was around people all day, because it was nice out.  So at 9 am I had my first flight, and she's close to her checkride.  I told her we'd have to wait until March, because my February is booked up too hard to push a checkride through in the next couple of weeks.  But she did great.  From there six of us hit lunch at Grindestone's.  I left there and went right back out to Kokomo, where I had another flight until 4 pm.  She also did well.  Today was another "ladies day", and they did well.  When I finished with her (and topped off a plane and pushed it away and hiked back to the hangar), I was back at the maintenance hangar where there were at least 5-6 people hanging out and talking.  One guy in particular sat at the table and just wanted to socialize.  By the time I left there and came home, I'd been "on" all day, and I was peopled out.  Steve and AE went to Hawg Heaven for dinner, but I just came home and ordered Japanese delivered-it had been ages.  :)   I'm sitting here needing to de-people, and my cellphone goes off, and it's the new 340 guy.  I don't answer, so he texts me "please call me when you can".  It's Friday at 8:30 pm, I have been cold and busy and working all day from the time I woke up, talking to and with multiple students and clients, including the California guys and the Springfield guy, and I'm just...DONE for the day.  But at the same time, I'm tense because the guy is just sitting there waiting for me to call him back, and I know he was supposed to go pick up the 340 tomorrow from Maine with another pilot, and I assume it might be about that.  I don't know.  But man.  I'm really not in the mood to talk to anyone else tonight.  I'll see which wins out.  My reticence to talk or the pressure of unfinished business.

Here are a few photos of the snow from today.  It's pretty up high, even if it's unpleasant outside.
